Schoettgen`s Four TDs Lead WU Past Lewis & Clark, 65-24

Bearcats Pull Away from 21-21 Halftime Tie

(SALEM, Oregon) - Bearcats logo Scott Schoettgen (Sr., WR, Columbia, CA/Sonora HS) caught four touchdown passes between the 9:41 mark of the third quarter and the first half-minute of the fourth quarter, as Willamette University defeated Lewis & Clark College, 65-24, on Saturday, Nov. 6. The Bearcats pulled away from a 21-21 halftime tie.

Willamette improved to 7-2 overall, 4-1 in the Northwest Conference. L&C dropped to 4-4 overall, 2-3 in the NWC.

College of Idaho Edges Warner Pacific, Earns Home Field for Playoff

(Portland, Oregon) - Warner Pacific Knights College of Idaho's Matt Kelley found the net in the 85th minute to stun Warner Pacific 2-1 in the final regular season contest at David Douglas High School today.

With both teams qualified for the Cascade Conference post-season, the result of the contest would determine which squad would serve as host for the semifinal game to be held next Tuesday. The Knights needed a win or a tie to earn the home field, but it was the visiting Yotes (10-7-1, 9-4-1 CCC) that picked up the victory in the final moments.

Knights Show Fight, But Fall at Home to EOU

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - Warner Pacific Knights Eastern Oregon fended off a spirited effort from Warner Pacific and emerged with a 3-1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-13, 25-20) win over the Knights in Cascade Conference volleyball action tonight at C.C. Perry Gym.

The lead changed hands five times in set one, but the visiting Mountaineers (13-10, 9-8 CCC) pulled away late to win 25-21. Set two was another close one with 14 tie scores and four lead changes, but Warner Pacific (4-19, 2-15 CCC) prevailed 25-22 thanks to 14 kills and a match best .182 hitting percentage.

Yotes Defeat Cavs in Four to Start Final Weekend before Playoffs

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Concordia University Athletics Sarah Harris’ 16 kills led the Coyotes as the College of Idaho defeated Concordia 3-1 (25-17, 25-21, 17-25, 25-12) in Cascade Collegiate Conference volleyball action Friday in Cavalier Gymnasium.

The loss drops CU’s record to 18-8 overall, 13-4 in conference matches. College of Idaho improves to 20-4 overall and 16-1 in the CCC with the win.

Oregon Air National Guard to Take Part in Veterans Day Flyovers Around the State

(SALEM, Oregon) - 173d Fighter Wing F-15 The Oregon Air National Guard will conduct Veterans Day flyovers for various ceremonies at locations throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington.

F-15 Eagle fighter jets from the 142nd Fighter Wing in Portland and the 173rd Fighter Wing at Kingsley Field are scheduled to conduct flyovers at the following locations and approximate times:

All passes will be approximately 1,000 feet above ground level and 350 knots airspeed. Flights could be cancelled or times changed due to inclement weather or operational contingencies.

Portland-Area Firefighters Train with Burning Jet Fuel

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Firefighters training on jet fuel fires Portland Fire and Rescue, Port of Portland and Hillsboro firefighters are taking part in a joint training this week to help prepare them for fighting fuel fires in case of an aircraft related accident at the Port of Portland airport.

"This type of training is conducted to teach firefighters how to safely extinguish fuel fires," said Craig Callicotte, the Fire Chief of Port of Portland. "The training also teaches them how to deal with the large amounts of fuel on the ground that will occur during an aircraft crash."

Portland Police Arrest Raymond Hetman

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Raymond Hetman Portland East Precinct Officers stopped a vehicle last night at approximately 6:00 p.m. near Southeast 168th Avenue and Southeast Powell Boulevard. Officers received information that 27-year-old Raymond Hetman was in the vehicle prior to being stopped by police.

Hetman had a Parole Violation Warrant and was being sought for questioning by police with regard to Kidnap allegations made by his girlfriend.
