Woman Who Claimed to be Raped and Kidnapped Recants Story

(HILLSBORO, Ore.) - Washington County Sheriff badge Today Sheriff's detectives re-interviewed the victim in Tuesday's Kidnapping/Rape case that allegedly occurred in the community of Cedar Hills. They confronted Twenty-seven-year-old Amada Gonzalez-Herrera (from Beaverton) with facts that contradicted her claims of being kidnapped and raped. She previously claimed that a man got in her car while she was at a stop sign and subsequently raped and robbed her.

Detectives have been diligently working on the case since Mrs. Gonzalez-Herrera reported the alleged crime.

Warner Pacific Basketball Starts Season With 69-66 Win Over LC State

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Warner Pacific Knights Warner Pacific opened up the 2010-11 season with a hard fought 69-66 win over Lewis-Clark State tonight at C.C Perry Gym.

Though the host Knights built a 10 point advantage on two occasions in the second period, the game was in doubt until a three point attempt by LCSC’s Jared Giamonna fell short at the buzzer.

Concordia Women`s Soccer Ranked No. 1 For Seventh-Straight Week in NAIA Poll

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) - Concordia University Athletics Concordia (Ore.) earned 21 of the 22 possible first-place votes for 622 points and its seventh-straight week atop the rankings in the latest edition of the NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25, the national office announced Tuesday.

Consistency reigned supreme this week, as the top-18 teams remained in the same position from the previous poll.

Woman Robbed and Sexually Assaulted in her Car

(CEDAR HILLS, Ore.) - Washington County Sheriff's Office Police say a woman was kidnapped, sexually assaulted, and robbed today in the Cedar Hills Area when a man jumped in her car at a stop sign.

Detectives are still interviewing the victim and do not have a specific location where this occurred. They believe it was in the area of the Cedar Hills Shopping Center, Located on SW Park Way.

Qualifiers Announced for NAIA Cross Country National Championships at Fort Vancouver

Seven CCC Teams, Led by No. 1 Southern Oregon Men and No. 7 Concordia Women, Included in Field

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) - Cascade Collegiate Conference The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the team and individual qualifiers for the 2010 NAIA Men’s and Women’s Cross Country National Championships on Monday. The 55th Annual Men’s and 31st Annual Women’s event will take place at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Washington, on Saturday, Nov. 20. The women’s 5K run is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. PST, followed by the men’s 8K at 11:45 a.m.

Admission to the championships is free. The event is being co-hosted by the Cascade Collegiate Conference and Concordia University (Oregon).

Southern Oregon Men No. 1 in Final NAIA Cross Country Poll; 6 Other CCC Teams Rated

(Portland, Oregon) - Cascade Collegiate Conference For the second straight year, the Southern Oregon men’s cross country team will take a national No. 1 ranking into the NAIA Cross Country National Championships.

The national championships, co-hosted by the Cascade Collegiate Conference and Concordia University (Oregon), will be held Saturday, November 20 at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Wash. The women’s 5K race is at 10:30 a.m., and will be followed by the men’s 8K race at 11:45 a.m. Admission is free.

Cavs End Regular Season with 31 Win against Eastern Oregon

(Portland, Oregon) - Concordia University Athletics Raluca Dinca posted 17 kills and Erika Doremus added 10 in their final home match as Concordia defeated Eastern Oregon 3-1 (25-22, 15-25, 25-18, 25-9) in Cascade Collegiate Conference volleyball action Saturday night in Cavalier Gymnasium.

With the win, Concordia improves to 19-8 overall, 14-4 in the CCC. Eastern Oregon falls to 13-11, 9-9 in the CCC with the loss.

Corban Warriors End Season with Senior Recognition

(Salem, Oregon) - Corban Warriors Corban's men's soccer team honored senior Aaron Paulson (St. Helens, Ore.) on Senior Recognition Day, as the Warriors fell to Concordia, 9-0, Saturday afternoon on Warrior Field in the final game of the season.

The Warriors started out strong against the NAIA's 27th-ranked Cavaliers, holding Concordia scoreless for the first 10 minutes. However, the Cavalier offense heated up, as CU's Michael Chamberlain netted a one-timer on Evan Denmark's through ball for the game's first score in the 11th minute. Concordia would score four more goals in the next 34 minutes to take a 5-0 lead into halftime.
