States reopen lower Columbia chinook season

Under the rule change, the entire Columbia is open to chinook, coho and steelhead fishing through Dec. 31

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Chinook Salmon Chinook salmon fishing will reopen on the lower Columbia River downstream of the Lewis River from Oct. 15 through the end of the year.

In a joint hearing this week, the Oregon and Washington departments of fish and wildlife decided to reopen recreational chinook salmon fishing on the Columbia from Buoy 10 upstream approximately 88 miles to the mouth of the Lewis River.

Portland Police Find Missing 11-year-old Child Safe

Missing boy Found.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - 11-year-old North Portland student Lok Marcellay Early this evening, Thursday October 14, 2010, the Portland Police Bureau, with the assistance of several law enforcement agencies in the State of Washington, has located the missing 11-year-old boy, Lok Marcellay.

Lok is with law enforcement and is safe and appears to be in good health. His family has been notified of his safe return to law enforcement.

Police Seek Missing 11-Year-Old from North Portland

Portland Police Have Found Missing 11-year-old Child Safe

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - 11-year-old North Portland student Lok Marcellay Portland Police Bureau Missing Persons detectives have arrested one of the persons suspected of being involved in the non-stranger abduction of 11-year-old North Portland student Lok Marcellay.

34-year-old Morning Star Marcellay, also known as Morning Star Means, the child's non-custodial biological mother, has been arrested by the Olympia, Washington, Police on warrants unrelated to this case.

What Not to Bring to a Lie Detector Test

(OLYMPIA, Wash.) - Washington State Patrol logo Background investigators for the Washington State Patrol “threw the book” at a prospective employee last week. The book, in this case, was owned by the applicant himself.
The incident played out as Criminal Records Manager Heather Anderson was arriving for a meeting at State Patrol headquarters. She happened to look in the car parked next to hers. On the seat was a book titled “How to Beat the Lie Detector.”

The State Patrol is hiring, so Anderson contacted the Human Resources division. “Running any candidates through the process today?” she asked. “Why, yes,” replied Captain Jay Cabezuela. “There’s a fellow taking his polygraph exam right now.”

AMBER Alert Activated Over Reported Child Abduction in Spokane

Authorities say that the children may be in the company of Chad Phillips, a 33-year old white male, who may be traveling in a 1996 Dark Green Chevrolet Monte Carlo vehicle.

(SPOKANE, Wash.) - Dawson Phillips, Kaleb Phillips and Bishop Phillips The AMBER Alert System has been activated for a missing children's case out of Spokane, Washington.

Washington State Patrol reports that they are looking for children who were last seen at W 1100 Mallon in Spokane, Wash. They believe these children are in danger.

(VANCOUVER, Wash.) - Robbery Investigation Vancouver Police were dispatched to the Chase Bank in Cascade Park (13215 SE Mill Plain) at 11:52 am Saturday morning October 2, 2010. The suspect entered the bank carrying a pink bag and presented a demand note, indicating he was heavily armed, had a bomb and wanted cash. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of cash and he fled the bank. As he exited the bank, he left the pink bag in the entryway, then fled on foot in a SW direction. Witnesses said the suspect was last seen running west from 131st Ave and SE 5th Street. A K9 track was unsuccessful.

Small airplane makes emergency landing in Battle Ground

(Battle Ground, Wash.) - Salem-News.com Battle Ground Police responded to an airplane making an emergency landing in the city limits. The airplane, privately owned and single engine, landed after the pilot experienced engine problems. The pilot was alone in the airplane and was not injured during the landing in an open field at approximately 1100 blk of SW 20th Ave. The pilot is from Lake Stevens, Washington and is not being identified.

Coast Guard responds to Injuries on Charter Vessel near Lummi Island

One passenger received a concussion while the other passenger had an injured arm.

(BELLINGHAM) - The 127-foot double masted Zodiac The Coast Guard responded to a distress call from the charter sailing vessel Zodiac after its main mast broke in half injuring two passengers near the San Juan Islands, Wash., Saturday.

The 127-foot double masted schooner was just north of Lummi Island when the incident occurred at approximately 2 p.m.
