Washington State quarterly revenue projection down $1.4 billionSalem-News.com(Olympia, Washington) -
The September revenue forecast for Washington state government shows projected General Fund revenue down $1.4 billion. The forecast covers the remainder of this biennium (2009-11) as well as the next budget period (2011-13). The figure was released today by the Washington State Economic and Revenue Forecast Council.

Oregon Zoo gives grant to Washington State DOC for frog rehabilitationSalem-News.comThe frog rehabilitation is part of the Sustainable Prisons Project, a partnership between the Department of Corrections and The Evergreen State College. (Olympia, WA) - The Department of Corrections received a grant from the Oregon Zoo to rehabilitate an endangered species of frog that lives in the Pacific Northwest. The staff and offenders at Cedar Creek Corrections Center have had a higher success rate at rearing the Oregon spotted frog than zoos and nature centers in Washington, Oregon and British Columbia.
