Truck Driver Arrested in Two States on DUII Charges Three Days Apart

The driver was also arrested June 3 by a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper for DUII while operating a commercial truck.

(LaGRANDE, Ore. ) - Oregon State Police arrested a commercial truck driver for DUII and other traffic-related offenses Friday afternoon following a reported citizen's driving complaint on Interstate 84 east of La Grande.

The driver's blood alcohol content level was more than seven times the legal BAC (.04) for commercial truck drivers in Oregon.

Man In Critical Condition After Bicycle Accident on Oregon Highway 22E

The man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

(STAYTON, Ore. ) - Oregon State Police A 55-year old man is in critical condition Saturday night after falling from his bicycle while riding on the shoulder of Highway 22E just east of Stayton.

The man reportedly ran over a piece of 2x4 wood lying on the pavement, lost control and fell off the bicycle landing on his face.

Oregon State Police Find Marijuana, Hash After Traffic Crash on I-5

Subsequent investigation indicates the vehicle contained numerous jars of marijuana, some of which broke open inside and outside the vehicle.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - The Oregon State Police is continuing the investigation after finding several pounds of marijuana at the scene of Friday morning's injury traffic crash on Interstate 5 south of Eugene.

At approximately 4:50 a.m., OSP troopers, local fire personnel and ODOT responded to a scene of an injury traffic crash involving a sport utility vehicle and commercial truck blocking the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near milepost 190.

Southbound traffic will be restricted to a single lane for a short distance one mile north of Albany (MP 236), as contractors remove and replace approximately 20 cubic yards of contaminated soil.

Woodburn Woman Injured in Head-On Crash

OSP troopers from the Portland Area Command office are continuing the investigation into the cause of the crash.

(OREGON CITY, Ore. ) - Oregon State Police are continuing the investigation into Tuesday morning's serious injury traffic crash involving two vehicles on Highway 213 south of Oregon City.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., a 2003 Cadillac sport utility vehicle towing a trailer driven by 73-year-old Sharon Zimmerman, from Woodburn, was northbound on Highway 213 near S. Greentree Drive when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a southbound Chevrolet pickup.

BREAKING NEWS: Wrong Way Driver Causes Crash on Highway 22 West of Salem

All lanes are now open. Police have yet to release any new information on the accident.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Police, along with the Oregon State Police, and Salem Fire and medical units are on the scene this morning of a serious injury accident involving what police say was a wrong way driver.

Salem Police tell Salem-News.com that Highway 22W eastbound near Rosemont Ave NW is CLOSED at this time, as there are multiple vehicles involved in the crash.

Oregon Memorial Day DUII Arrests Up; Deaths Down

Citizen driving complaints were directly tied to helping troopers find and arrest 11 DUII drivers.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - OSP Car Preliminary statistics in Oregon for the 2014 Memorial Day holiday weekend period indicates fewer traffic deaths and more DUII arrests by Oregon State Police troopers in comparison to last year’s holiday weekend totals.

According to ODOT’s Fatality Analysis Reporting Systems (FARS), there have been two reported fatalities (both pedestrian-involved) in two separate traffic crashes by Oregon law enforcement agencies.

City of Salem Updates State Street and Court Street NE Slurry Seal Work

There will be several short lane closures that will affect traffic and parking.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - The asphaltic slurry seal scheduled to be completed at selected locations on State Street and Court Street NE has been delayed due to weather concerns. The work has been rescheduled for the week of June 2 through June 6, 2014.

Many projects are either scheduled or under way on Oregon highways this year. Beginning this week, the map will be available at ODOT offices, DMV offices, truck stops and many travel information centers.
