Portland Police and Crew from COPS TV Show Survive Head-On Crash (SLIDESHOW)

The show COPS has been in Portland for the last six weeks filming episodes with the Portland Police for their TV program.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com A Portland Police car with a crew from TV Show COPS aboard, collided head on with a Subaru Outback that drifted into their lane, according to reports. It happened at SE 136/137th & SE Stark, Portland.

Q Madp of IraqWarHeroes.org, photographed the aftermath of the crash in great detail and shares the images with our Salem-News.com viewers.

Statements indicate that Tuesday night at 9:00 p.m., a Portland Police Officer was driving his police car and was hit by an oncoming Subaru Outback that had veered into the officer's lane of traffic. This accident occured in the area of Southeast 136th and Stark Street.

Deputies Locate Disabled Woman (UPDATE)

The Missing Woman, Sparkle Green, has returned home safely and unharmed.

(BEAVERTON, Ore.) - Sparkle Green left her adult foster care home earlier this week and has not returned. Washington County Sheriff's deputies are asking for the public's help in locating a missing developmentally disabled woman from the community of Aloha.

26-year old Sparkle Thira Green left her adult foster care home last Tuesday, September 22nd, and went to her mother's house in NE Portland. She has not been seen or heard from since.

Sparkle Green left her adult foster care home earlier this week and has not returned. She was last seen in Portland and may be downtown, according to Sgt. David Thompson with the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Portland Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash at 148th and Glisan

Investigators say the 42-year-old man died from his injuries after arriving at the hospital.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Motorcycle rider dies Police say 42-year-old Curtis Rhodes of Portland, was killed while riding his motorcycle while southbound on 148th Avenue at Glisan Street when he lost control of his motorcycle. Investigators believe speed was a contributing factor in this accident. The crash happened today at approximately 10:45 a.m.

Portland Police officers arriving on the scene located a severely injured motorcycle rider that had apparently loss control of his motorcycle.

Portland Police Investigate Shooting

Officers are continuing to investigate the incident.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Portland Police Officers responded to the 1600 Block of Northeast Going Street today at approximately 4:30 p.m., on a report of a shooting victim that was being transported to an area hospital.

When officers arrived, they were unable to locate a crime scene and eventually located a man at an area hospital who was making statements about being shot. Portland Police Detective Mary Wheat said. "Officers went to the hospital and began interviewing the alleged victim, 19-year old Demarcus Vance, and determined that he had not been shot but had sustained a minor injury to his arm."

Falling Pump Prices on West Coast Mean Little for Oregonians

Gas prices are finally easing on the west coast, but California, Washington and Oregon all rank in the top five most expensive states for gas for the second week in a row.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Gas nozzle Gas prices on the West Coast are finally easing a bit, Oregon AAA says. The state's average for regular unleaded falls a penny this week to $2.88 while the national average loses two cents to $2.54.

One factor impacting gas prices in the west and elsewhere is the annual conversion from summer blended fuels to winter blends, which can slow refinery production and cause some regional price spikes.

(HANOVER, Ontario) - Laurence Cherniak and Jack Herer Hemp Icon Jack Herer, author of "The Emperor Wears No Clothes" had a heart attack last weekend at Hempstalk in Portland, Oregon. Jack & his wife Jeannie are friends of Salem-News.com, and we have been covering the event with as much respect as possible over the last few days.

Last Friday, a news organization released an article claiming that Jack had died, when in fact he had not. Moreover, the writer was extremely disrespectful toward Jack. We called the hospital and confirmed that the information was false, and quickly published the fact that Jack was very much alive, and remained in critical condition. It is an honor to receive and publish this response from one of Jack's oldest friends.

Portland Media Group Releases False Report About Jack Herer`s Death

Jack Herer is in critical but stable condition.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Friends of Jack Herer's are peeved over an alleged journalist with the Portland Examiner.com, who released an article Friday stating that the hemp icon had died. In reality, Jack continues fighting for his life in a Portland Hospital following a heart attack Saturday; the information was blatantly false.

I sure don't see this type of mistake very often, and I am not sure if there are actual reporters at this publication, or if it is a "citizen journalist" site where nobody is actually required to check facts. A simple call to the hospital perhaps?
