(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Hemp Fashion Show at 2009 Hempstalk in Portland, Oregon A diverse set of models displayed the latest Hemp Fashions over the weekend at Hempstalk in Portland. Thousands watched as the different styles were shown, all 100% made from the marijuana or cannabis plant.

Hemp is the term that refers to the industrial strains of the plant. They have historically been used for everything from food and fuel, to medicine, clothing and food.

FBI Releases 2008 Crime Stats for Oregon and Washington

The FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting Program collects data on murder, forcible rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny-threat, and motor vehicle thefts.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - FBI Crime in 2008 Today, the FBI released its annual Crime in the United States report for American cities. Nationwide, violent crime fell by 1.9%. Property crime was down 0.8%.

Ironically, Jack told our Doctor Phil Leveque earlier that day, that he was feeling better Saturday than he had, "In the ten years."

Tobacco Now Banned on PCC Campus

The PCC district encompasses a 1,500-square-mile area in northwest Oregon.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Cigarettes PCC isn't the first to do it. And by all indications, it won't be the last. But PCC is by far the largest institution of higher education in the state. So when the Board of Directors announced that PCC would become tobacco-free today Sept. 9, 2009, it was big news.

"This is something we have been working toward for a long time," said District President Preston Pulliams. "Students have asked for this. Staff and faculty have asked for this. It was the right time to make PCC a healthier place."

Portland Police Officers Investigate Suspicious Death

Portland Police Homicide Detectives are on the scene of a suspicious death in the area of the 6900 Block of North Fessenden.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Death investigation Portland Police officers responded to a residence Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in the 6900 Block of North Fessenden and found a deceased 50-year-old woman inside an apartment.

Portland Police Detective Mary Wheat, says Homicide detectives were called to the scene to investigate the death due to suspicious circumstances. "Detectives will be at the scene throughout the night investigating this incident," Wheat said.

Gas Prices Hold Steady after Labor Day Weekend

OPEC Not Expected to Cut Production at its Wednesday Meeting.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Gas pump Gas prices remain fairly stable this week with the Oregon average for regular unleaded holding steady at $2.82 and the national average dropping three cents to $2.58.

AAA Oregon Public Affairs Director Marie Dodds says, "We've seen a mixture of positive and negative economic news throughout the summer, and without a clear direction of where the economy might be headed, crude oil has spent much of the summer around $70 a barrel."
