Marion County Traffic Safety Team Deputies Investigate Head-On Crash

UPDATE: Following the investigation by the MCSO Traffic Safety Team, Ian Beyers was charged with driving while Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Reckless Driving, and Assault 3.

(SALEM, Ore.) - wrecked 96 sentra A head-on motor vehicle crash sent one driver to the hospital by helicopter earlier this evening. Marion County Deputies responded to a call received at 5:07 p.m. and located the crash in the 18000 block of Fobert Road NE, between Hubbard and Aurora.

Bruins’ Home Finale Ends in Draw with Wildcats

(NEWBERG, Oregon) - George Fox University Color Bruin Bear Logo Northwest Conference scoring leader Emily Fellows of Linfield College tied the game with a goal 30 seconds from the end of regulation, then the Wildcats and the George Fox University Bruins battled through two overtimes to a 2-2 women’s soccer draw Friday afternoon here at the Austin Sports Complex.

NWC CHAMPIONSHIP: Bruins Pleasantly Surprise with 5th-Place Finish in NWC 8K

(LAKEWOOD, Wash.) - Salem-News.com Sports A strong finishing kick by Austin Morrell carried him past several runners near the finish line and the George Fox University Bruins into fifth place in the Northwest Conference Men’s 8K Cross Country Championship, hosted by the University of Puget Sound, on a rainy Sunday morning here at Ft. Steilacoom Park.

The Bruins collected a team total of 160 points, two points ahead of sixth-place Whitman. Whitworth University edged Willamette University 33 to 36 for the conference title. Lewis & Clark College took third with 66 points, followed by Linfield College with 116 George Fox, Whitman, Pacific University with 185, the University of Puget Sound with 202, and Pacific Lutheran University with 240.

NWC CHAMPIONSHIP: Bruins Run Well but Finish 9th in Conference 6K Race

(LAKEWOOD, Wash) - Salem-News.com Sports Kate Freiheit ran a personal best by over a minute in posting the top mark for George Fox University, but the Bruins as a team finished ninth in the Northwest Conference Women’s 6K Cross Country Championship, hosted by the University of Puget Sound, on a rainy Saturday morning here at Ft. Steilacoom Park.

The Bruins had a team total of 224 points, only eight behind Pacific University’s 216. Lewis & Clark College won the race with 43 points, followed by Whitworth University with 73, Willamette University with 94, Whitman College with 100, Linfield College with 113, Pacific Lutheran University with 137, Puget Sound with 194, Pacific, and George Fox.

Reported Gunshot Victim in Newberg

(NEWBERG, Ore.) - Shooting Investigation This morning at approximately 7:10 am officers from the Newberg-Dundee Police Department were called to a local business on a report of a gunshot victim. An investigation is underway at the business and one person is confirmed deceased.

At this time there does not appear to be nefarious circumstances but the name is not being released pending family notification. Some family is out of the immediate area so this could delay any further information.
