Oregon State Women’s Swimming - Alumni Return for a Morning of Competition

(CORVALLIS, Ore.) - Beavers The Oregon State women’s swim team hosted its annual Alumni Relays this Saturday at Stevens Natatorium in Dixon Recreation Center. Both men and women alumni attended the event to get a chance to compete with the current team and against each other. Former men’s swimming head coach Bill Winkler was there to support the team as well.

Fish Restoration and Enhancement Board to meet in Corvallis

(CORVALLIS, Oregon) - Restoration and Enhancement: Protecting Oregon`s Investment (logo) The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Fish Restoration and Enhancement Board will meet on Fri., Nov. 5 at the ODFW Corvallis Office, 7118 NE Vandenberg, Corvallis.

The meeting will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The agenda includes an R&E Program budget and administrative update, Board elections, review of new project proposals and other program business.

Special Olympics Oregon Fall Regional Games Held Statewide

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - soor logo Several communities throughout Oregon will once again host Special Olympics Oregon Fall Regional Games on consecutive weekends in Late October and November. More than 2,000 athletes will compete in one of 10 competitions in seven cities. Hundreds of coaches, volunteers and families will join in to support competitors.

The Fall Regional Games, presented by Les Schwab Tire Centers, officially begins Sunday, October 31 with a bowling competition at Lakeshore Lanes in Albany. Regional competitions continue the following weekend with Corvallis hosting aquatics on Saturday, November 6 and soccer and volleyball on Sunday, November 7. Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham will also host aquatics on November 7. November 13 & 14 will conclude the fall season with bowling competitions in Beaverton, Bend, Hermiston, Medford and Portland.

Salem ODOT Worker Injured When Car Careens Through Construction Zone

Alcohol consumption by the 17 year old driver appears to be a major contributing factor

(SALEM, Oregon) - Wrecked Honda Accord Shortly after 9:00 PM September 29th, an ODOT worker suffered serious, but not life threatening, injuries when a 1999 Honda Accord driven by a 17 year old male from Salem lost control and drove into a road construction project. The worker, 46 year old Philip Lane of Corvallis, was standing on the side of the roadway on Kuebler Blvd by I-5 when he was struck by the westbound car. After the vehicle struck Lane, it continued until it struck the rear of a street sweeper, causing substantial damage.
