Special Olympics Oregon Fall Regional Games Held Statewide

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Several communities throughout Oregon will once again host Special Olympics Oregon Fall Regional Games on consecutive weekends in Late October and November. More than 2,000 athletes will compete in one of 10 competitions in seven cities. Hundreds of coaches, volunteers and families will join in to support competitors.

The Fall Regional Games, presented by Les Schwab Tire Centers, officially begins Sunday, October 31 with a bowling competition at Lakeshore Lanes in Albany -(Albany 2010 Special Olympics Oregon Fall Regional Games Bowling). Regional competitions continue the following weekend with Corvallis hosting aquatics on Saturday, November 6 and soccer and volleyball on Sunday, November 7. Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham will also host aquatics on November 7. November 13 & 14 will conclude the fall season with bowling competitions in Beaverton, Bend, Hermiston, Medford and Portland.

Special Olympics Oregon Games are an opportunity for our athletes to showcase their talents and for communities across the state to demonstrate their continued support,” said Margaret Hunt, Special Olympics Oregon CEO.

Les Schwab Tire Centers is the official sponsor of the Fall Regional Games. Other sponsors who support Fall Regional Games include Safeway, Law Enforcement Torch Run, Ralph Hull Foudation, Walmart, Roth’s Fresh Markets, Jiffy Lube, William G. Gilmore Foundation, Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy, Event Medical Services, Day Wirelss Systems, Pepsi and Dex.

• Bowling – Lakeshore Lanes in Albany – 9:30am to 4pm
Saturday, November 6
• Aquatics – Osborn Aquatic Center in Corvallis - 9:30am to 4pm
Sunday, November 7
• Aquatics – Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham – 9:30am to 4pm
• Soccer – Corvallis High School – 9:30am to 5pm
• Volleyball – Corvallis High School - 9:30am to 4pm
Saturday, November 13
• Bowling – Desert Lanes in Hermiston – 9:30am to 3:30pm
• Bowling – Lava Lanes in Medford – 9:30am to 4pm
• Bowling – Sunset Lanes in Beaverton – 9:30am to 2pm
Sunday, November 14
• Bowling – AMF 20th Century Lanes in Portland – 9:30am to 2pm
• Bowling – Sun Mountain Fun Center in Bend – 9:30am to 3pm
