Air Force Major Lost Over Laos During Vietnam War is Identified

Two men from the plane already recovered and returned home after 36 years are Major Barclay B. Young, of Hartford, Connecticut and Senior Master Sergeant James K. Caniford, of Brunswick, Maryland.

(SALEM, Ore.) - tribute to Curtis Daniel Miller U.S. officials say the remains of a U.S. serviceman, missing in action from the Vietnam War from a C-130 crash in 1972, have been identified and will be returned to his family for burial with full military honors.

English-Language Editor of Palestinian News Agency Deported from Israel

International Press Institute condemns deportation amid concerns that legal hurdles were politically motivated.

(NEW YORK) - Israel's Ben-Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv Jared Malsin, editor of the English section of Ma’an News Agency was deported by the Israeli authorities on Wednesday. Following a week in custody at Ben Gurion International Airport, the American journalist was flown to New York City yesterday morning.

Malsin was detained on 12 January at the airport after landing, as he and his girlfriend were returning from a holiday in the Czech Republic.

Plane Crash Kills Two West of Philomath

Two people from Idaho were killed, authorities found the plane early this morning.

(PHILOMATH, Ore.) - Plane crash On Sunday, January 17th at approximately 8:00 p.m. Benton County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue personnel and law enforcement deputies were dispatched to search for a missing plane.

Corvallis airport officials reported that a pilot had filed a flight plan that indicated the plane should be arriving in Corvallis at about 4:00 p.m. When the airplane did not arrive, dispatch was notified and search teams dispatched.

Venezuela Intercepts Two U.S. Drug Trafficking Planes

So far in 2010 some 1,400 pounds of illegal drugs have been seized by Venezuelan authorities in various anti-drug operations.

(CARACAS) - Tareck El Aissami At dawn on Monday a U.S. registered plane used for drug trafficking was intercepted and seized, said the Minister of People's Power for Interior and Justice Tareck El Aissami.

The minister noted that the plane, which had come from Central America, illegally entered Venezuelan airspace and refused to communicate with Venezuelan air traffic controllers. It was immediately intercepted and forced to land, he explained.

Baa Baa Black Sheep

Marine veteran remembers visit by Colonel Gregory (Pappy) Boyington, the Marine Corps’ highest ranking Ace from WW II, who died 22 years ago today.

(SOMERDALE, NJ) - Salem-News.com It’s not often that you get to ‘stand inspection’ for a Medal of Honor winner. The word was passed that Colonel Gregory (Pappy) Boyington, WW II Medal of Honor and Navy Cross recipient with VMF-214, would be visiting MCAS El Toro and the Marine Wing Service Group-37 tomorrow.

This was a big deal. Medal of Honor winners do not pay visits every day. Pappy Boyington was the highest ranking WW II Ace in the Marine Corps.
