Feb-18-2010 16:36TweetFollow @OregonNews Was Austin Pilot Joseph Stack a Terrorist?Tim King Salem-News.comA Texas police chief decided it wasn't terrorism before the smoke had cleared.
(SALEM, Ore.) - The debate is on over whether the Austin, Texas pilot who flew his plane into an IRS building is a terrorist. Andrew Joseph Stack III, who had a long running beef with the IRS, apparently went by Joseph Stack. Isn't is firmly established that people with a beef against the U.S. government who fly planes into buildings in an effort to kill Americans are terrorists? Apparently not down in Texas. The angry software engineer reportedly set fire to his home today, before intentionally crashing his Piper PA-28 Cherokee single-engine, four-seat private plane into the second story office building in Austin. Federal officials said Stack's body had not been recovered. They did confirm that two people were seriously injured, and a third person is missing. Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Texas wasted little time in calling the deadly crash "a cowardly act of domestic terrorism." But the police chief in Austin, Art Acevedo, told reporters he would prefer to describe it as "a criminal act by a lone individual." The smoke hadn't even cleared. When planes struck the World Trade Towers on September 11th 2001, federal investigators miraculously found the passports of the alleged "terrorists" way too fast, under nearly impossible conditions. The legacy of this killer Stack was forever pardoned from the brand of "terrorism" by Acevedo, though it does not really make sense. I guess the bottom line is that if the person is a Muslim, they are instantly branded terrorists. If a white American commits an act against the federal government, people like Acevedo will say the crash "appears to be an intentional act," without calling it what it really is, domestic terrorism. Acevedo was quoted by MSNBC saying, "It would appear to be by a sole individual, and it appears this individual was targeting federal offices inside that building." But he's not a terrorist. The right wing bloggers are quick to defend this guy too, and they're so wound up they don't even realize how badly they incriminate their entire movement. If you didn't learn this in history, the United States was founded on a system that involves taxation, and all the Kleenex in the world isn't going to change it. Nor will banging your fist, or flying your airplane into a building... change it. Another Website with a story titled 'Blaming Joe Stack's suicide mission on Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, and the Tea Party is insane' states: "Joseph Andrew Stack (gotta love how the media always includes the middle name) was a middle-aged man who tired of the political system and felt like yet another little guy that was neglected by Uncle Sam." Here's what some dorkwad writer, 'Sorcha Faal' with a bizarre site called 'Not Yet News' published today: "And in his supreme act of defiance when faced with seemingly overwhelming odds, Joe Stack joined a long line of nearly forgotten American hero’s who like him had never forgotten what true freedom was, and the price that had to be paid for keeping it. His name, Joe Stack, is as American as mom and apple pie, but his mission yesterday, when he crashed his plane into the Echelon Federal Building in Austin, Texas, was to strike a blow for freedom for his fellow citizens, who unlike him had forgotten that death really holds no fear for those fighting tyrants." I was waiting for something about 72 virgins, it is the only thing that seems to be lacking, and maybe they need to use the word 'martyr' a couple of times. The FBI is taking over the investigation, that sounds like a very good idea. Daniel you hit the nail on the head, both certainly could be considered insane, except only one of them was trotted out in the media to be something more, and that "more" was of a political nature that was entirely erroneous.
Daniel February 21, 2010 7:58 pm (Pacific time)
Anonymous , both Bishop and Stack were and are insane ! Why anyone would want to attach there political wagon to either is crazy . Your rant about trying to connect Bishop to Obama makes me wonder about you ! You really are a bit over the edge with your posts .
Anonymous February 21, 2010 1:45 pm (Pacific time)
I saw the picture of the person Stackhouse killed, an African-American. Here is a link to the pictures of those three people that Amy Bishop killed, the Alabama college professor. These three were also minorities, which she picked out purposely. She was also a big Obama supporter as per the diffrent news bio's on her. So I wonder why the msm is not connecting Bishop to the Tea Party and other far right groups like Stackhouse? http://americanpowerblog.blogspot.com/2010/02/amy-bishop-killed-minorities-leftists.html

Editor what do you think the reasons are that we have had an ongoing migration of jobs going overseas? High taxes or greed? What has caused our manufacturing base to become more and more hollowed out? I agree that we have "elements of socialist policies" within our society, but we do not have anything remotely close to a "socialistic government", nor will we. Back in the 1960's I had a Dodge with a 426 hemi, and LBJ was president. Whoever is president has no real control over what we consumers demand (nor should they), and in a free market system, consumers set the manufacturing demand. Government does not create wealth nor do they create jobs in the private market, Americans do that. What socialists want is to set all polices, including what you can have, because in their world you own nothing and your vote is irrelevant. It is the complete opposite of a republican form of government. Does anyone out there know where this is happening outside of places like Cuba, North Korea and a few other equally dismal places? Our form of government (making it smaller) as layed out by our founding documents is on the rise, and those who have been doing their best to transform it via trickery have failed to understand what the majority of the American people demand. We will transform them right out of office as soon as elections are held, if not sooner. We are a generous people and we always take care of our poor and those who have disabilities, but it's the lazy, the slackers who expect us hardworkers to provide for them, no, it's time they learn to take some personal responsibility. It's just a very small percentage of people who pay most of the taxes out there, so a flat tax, or a national sales tax may become more attractive to begin, that is if one really wants to see paying one's fair share is "fair?" This idiot Stack, was just a demented lowlife, and all societies have them.

Semantics is a trivial issue to be concerned with when you have people dead unless you're a greedy leftwing lawyer looking for any petty rationalization to file a law suits against anybody in the way of your political cult for crimes they had nothing to do with or inventing legal mumbo jumbo to keep your cult members out of jail for crimes they're guilty as sin of you cover up like Stalin's mass murders was hidden by the New York Times for bribes of money and sexual favors.

It's utterly amazing how some people simply do not understand the vile and ultimately unworkable nature of having a socialist government. Sure we have elements in our culture that have us working towards capitalizing on socialization of numerous issues, but that is a far cry from a socialist government, which is something in the long history of man has never worked. If you want to learn something about just what "progressive" and socialism actually mean in application, then go to below link and prepare yourself to be informed in just how life works.
Watch, learn, remember, and pass it on! Tomorrow, it will be morning in America for you and those who take the time to get informed!
Tim King: Socialism is something that has been in place in the United States for many generations, every heard of Social Security? There are so many instances in functioning U.S. government where Socialsm has or had a tremendous impact. I can not help it if people believe it isn't their duty to help other human beings, it is the saddest and lowest point of view any member of this race can take. At one end you have big money corporate America that talks about 'smaller government' while it chokes our salaries and lifestyles, that is when the bastards aren't busy shipping our jobs overseas. The United States has always been like the slow kid on the block, look at our vehicles versus Europe. They have always considered the amount of fuel required to run a car, and they accomodate their world to match the circumstances. The U.S. has Dodge, now owned by Fiat of all things, doing a return to massive engines and cars under the last Bush. Look where that got them. Almost every nation considered by the U.S. to be an ally, has Socialism in place also. It is no big deal, just a piece of paranoia to latch onto. But the mentality is what I don't understand, actually being bothered by any program that helps all of your fellow countrymen get from one step to the next. And man, if you think I am going to publish your pro-insurance pro-Bush pro-Corporate America link, you're dreaming.

Joseph Stack cannot be branded as a member of the right. Stack was neither a teapartier nor right-winger. And he was more than just a loon who attempted to avoid paying income taxes. Although incoherent and underdeveloped, his rants are decidedly left-wing and his manifesto, or at least parts of it, are very similar to diaries at the Daily Kos.
Editor: You are not allowed to just state wild theories like this here, and every time I choose to publish one like this, it will be countered and it is called out before ever being published. This creep was not a left wing person, he was another pissed off white (country & western performer) dude who had a lot of money, and had it in for the government because he didn't want to pay his fair share, that is not a left wing philosophy. Earlier another person tried to state that left wing people are like Nazi's, when in fact the U.S. and the socialists of the Soviet Union worked together to defeat that loser. The left doesn't have it in for the government, you really should keep that part straight.

"The word 'community' and 'Communisim'... get it? Stalin didn't distribute the wealth, he just made sure that the top 2% of the Russians had 98% of everything materially owned there, like we became under that slimewad Bush. By the way, keep your eye on that even more pathetic fat ass 'dick' Cheney, he might be hanging out in a cell with the homeboys soon, in the federal penitentiary. People like this commenter may remind us that America is barely past the stone age in terms of thought patterns, but things are getting better, go USA!." You are incredibly myopic. In terms of those of us who are Capitalists (notice that you have a few advertisers, you against captalism?), are you one, or you just pay for this site with some other method besides money? Needless to say your educational background on history and current events is seriously lacking. You are so full of hate and anger, someday I hope I run into you and you act out on that hate against me in some physical fashion... In the meantime people like me live very happy lives and particpate in our "communities" helping our fellow citizens with actual funding and guidance, while leftist just rail, bitch amd moan against those who left them in the dust when they were children. You do have something in common with one aspect that Marx laid out and that was the temporary value of the "useful idiots." They have to be removed from the scene after they serve their purpose(s) because of they are easy to manipulate, which means, the enemies of the far left, God's people, the conservatives, would turn them against them, which we are doing now, but you won't see it until it's too late. You don't even see the desperation in the Whitehouse. These "idiots" have a limited value to society, and their time is soon coming up for a re-evaluation... Obama has destroyed the democrats ( a neccesary thing for now), and you just don't see it. I pray that they pass a "public option", ignoring the majority will of the people. Even when they call for martial law in the future, it will just accelerate their fate, and those criminals that support ("useful idiots") these hideous sunhuman creatures. You may see a few trees, but you don't see the forest, dullards, that is what makes up the radical left.
Micah February 20, 2010 7:16 am (Pacific time)
Joseph Stack, the anti-capitalist who killed two recently, (please note the far leftist female college professor from Alabama "killed more", what happened to her in the media?) in a 9/11-style attack in Austin, published a "manifesto" online, which ends with the communist creed. What is most striking about this man's ramblings is that they read, at times, very similarly to msm editorial and even straight news monologues. We find many of the contradictory ideas to which today's Left holds. To Mr. Stack, George Bush was a "puppet", but yet he had "cronies". To Mr. Stack, General Motors executives were reliant on their "overwhelming stupidity" for being "thugs" and "plunderers". Mr Stack had also been convinced of the idea that "insurance companies are murdering tens of thousands of people a year" (Where did he get that idea? "ObamaCare Opponents 'Killing 45000 People/Year,').
It is clear this man derived much of his manifesto from leftist big media, which has become much more extreme in recent years. But how many times have we seen this? How about John Hinckley? The man who tried to kill President Reagan was brimming with media inspiration. Thankfully none of the many leftists who expressed a desire to kill President Bush ever had an opportunity to live out their media-inspired ideas. But there are many pictures available of them acting those ideas out, with fire and violence. And most recently one Mr. Jeremy Olson was arrested for throwing objects at Sarah Palin while she was holding her baby son. And what was the media response to this media-inspired event? They lamented the fact that the man missed his target. Big media has gone too far in their constant attacks of republicans and conservatives. And the reality is that "conservatives" are the largest voting block in the country. They are made up of those of all genders and races. Big media are creating people like Mr. Stack every day. I see one of the below posters, a committed leftist and who is also anti-military and anti-veteran, considers Stack a hero. I have yet to see anyone on the right ever support this kind of behavior. Maybe what we are about to see is an exposure of just how violent those on the left are? Keep in mind they never pay their fair share in taxes, never. I'm no rich cat, nor a chubby white guy, but for years every April I make out a big check paying additional taxes. How many of you posters do that? My guess is very few. Big difference taking people on for their policies rather than making personal attacks. Pretty soon many may not like the backlash that is developing. Evaluate the last elections in Virginia, New Jersey and Massachussetts, that is not the Tea Party folks voting, that is American voters redressing and rejecting current policies. It will continue in that trend until we drain the DC swamp.
Editor: You guys need to hang onto that Sarah Palin, please, have her run in the next election and continue your pattern of totally losing control. So flying a plane into a building full of U.S. federal employees and citizens who never saw this stack of crap, and a guy that threw an 'object' at SP are about the same to you? Very interesting point, you forgot about the Iraqi journalist who threw his shoe at Bush, I mean while you're at it....
Daniel February 19, 2010 5:01 pm (Pacific time)
What are you talking about Matt ? Hitler was put into power with the help of the wealthy ! Nazi Germany even charged for the death camp ride from those killed , so the rail stock holders would make more money . The communist opposition by Hitler is what gave him power and support from the wealthy right wing . Please read history , do not make up your own !
Matt February 19, 2010 3:01 pm (Pacific time)
The Nazis epitomize big government, they viewed the government as the answer to all their problems. How history could confuse a movement that was so violently against individual property rights, pro-gun control, pro-big government control, and generally against individual choice and consequence with the political right is beyond me. The Nazis were openly socialist and opposed marxists/communists as competition more than for ideological reasons. Communists could have stolen Germans away from the Nazi movement. For some reason many believe that the Nazis were right wing, this is patently false. Hitler was a socialist, a national socialist to be sure, but a socialist nevertheless. This puts him and his party far to the left, along with the international socialists (communists).
World War 2 was therefore a conflict between national socialism and international socialism. Fortunately one was vanquished, and the other seriously weakened, but trying to make a comeback. "Everything must be different!" or "Alles muss anders sein!" was a slogan of the Nazi Party. It is also the heart's desire of every Leftist since Karl Marx. Nazism was a deeply revolutionary creed, a fact that is always denied by the Left; but it's true. Hitler and his criminal gang hated the rich, the capitalists, the Jews, the Christian Churches, and "the System".
Tim King: Cry me a river Matt, if you think liberal people today in America who want healthcare and aren't scared to say they love women and children and peace are like Nazi's, then you are vastly unable to understand basic logic and circumstance. Death cloaks have no pockets pal, 2% of the wealthiest Americans have 98% of the nation's wealth, because the bastards have been able to get away with it. Rich greedy stinking bastards who don't care about my fellow Americans, they aren't worth the ground they occupy. Some day I think things will turn around, and your super unique and terribly flawed philosophy will be the first to go. I guess W.'s granddad who supplied the Nazi's in the 30's as they geared up to murder millions of Jews, was a liberal? I've heard it all now. The one thing people reading this need to know is that neither Stalin or Lenin or Mao or any of those characters, practiced simple 'socialism' which the U.S. very much has in its principal foundation. The word 'community' and 'Communisim'... get it? Stalin didn't distribute the wealth, he just made sure that the top 2% of the Russians had 98% of everything materially owned there, like we became under that slimewad Bush. By the way, keep your eye on that even more pathetic fat ass 'dick' Cheney, he might be hanging out in a cell with the homeboys soon, in the federal penitentiary.

human not machine February 19, 2010 1:55 pm (Pacific time)
Ha! You all fall into the trap set by the governmental machine. What better way to sort the lemmings from the free thinkers. When the ire is raised and opinion expressed, those the machine finds 'dissadent', come to the surface. Since the days of arm bands for indentification are gone, what better way to find and indentify those the government deems dangerous to the machine. You THINK you are free to express your opinion. If the opinion is the right one, you get to continue on with your blinders on. If you don't, I would hope you have a back up plan...you have been tagged by the machine.
Duncan February 19, 2010 1:45 pm (Pacific time)
He sounds like a failed smart-ass. I don't find it unbelievable he endured years of unfair treatment, etc. He tried his hand at playing games right back at gov and, big surprise, got smacked back even harder. So he kicked it up another level into an evil, violent act that precluded any opportunity for even the gov to punish him further. And shame on us, it worked, at least partially. His letter got widely read, because the press will always give platform to those who commit notable violence, even when it's clear that the violence wouldn't have occured without the promise of attention. To answer his question, 'what will it take for people rise up en masse,' I suspect the answer is irrelevant: people are already too numb, isolated, and monitored for any issue to rouse them in the speed and volume necessary to effect true change. The only saving grace is that those on top are just as flawed as those on the bottom, but imagine they are better because of their circumstance. Having successfully isolated themselves from any negative consequences for their bad behavior, their human nature will cause them to push farther and farther, beyond the ability of their own safety mechanisms to protect them from self-destruction. It is inevitable, though sadly not particularly quick, and probably very messy for the rest of us.
Margaret S. February 19, 2010 10:50 am (Pacific time)
This is what an admininistration that forcers "change" that infringes on the rights of the people gives cause to produce. It is unfortunate that this man chose death over life and a stand up approach to govt that is out of control and has decided that the people are its enemy. Sad day for those who value their freedom and decided to selfishly decry their own govt with such verrocity to act out such a cowardly scene. Glad so far he perp is the only one who paid a heavy price.
Matt February 19, 2010 10:42 am (Pacific time)
When you make a tally list on who has killed the most people in the last 100 years, the left or the right, it's by far and away the Marxists at well over 100 million. Take Stalin, Mao, and the murderers in southeast Asia to see how that tally is made. In terms of far right crazies out there, well that's very true, but they are dwarfed by the far left ideologues, and that is historically documented. To get some insight on how utterly violent they are in real time, go talk to some middle-aged SE Asians who risked it all in leaky boats in the South China Sea. Sure this Stack guy is a terrorist, and certainly it is obscene to call him a hero, so please rethink that moniker. Bob Herbert could be more accurate in his assessments if he compared and qualified those assessments. He is a far left ideologue, but I guess that is part of the charm for a small minority of like-minded.
Tim King: OK, when we say left we don't mean Marxist, OK? I won't compare every act of the neocons with Hitler, and you leave Marx out of it. The bottom line is that people from the left fight out of desperation to save others, and the right wing has a bunch of chubby middle aged white guys who don't want to pay their fair share of taxes or take care of the poor. Gee, my heart really breaks for the suits, yeah right. I think you are talking about apples and oranges, and if the 'left' acted the way you suggest, stack and his kind would be long gone from the face of the earth.
Daniel Johnson February 19, 2010 9:47 am (Pacific time)
There are right wing crazies everywhere. Last year, Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada said: “You know, there's two schools in economics on this. One is that there are some good taxes and the other is that no taxes are good taxes. I'm in the latter category. I don't believe that any taxes are good taxes.” About the same time Bob Herbert called right-wingers a “profoundly destructive force in American life”.
Apres Stack Le Deluge!

Very sad, that anyone who can pilot a plane, not even land it (like the 9/11 "students") can do something like this Kamikaze crap and take out innocent people just doing their jobs. If you have problems with our tax system, you can move away to whatever country will have you... Where you'll be taxed as well, no doubt. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and other programs benefitting all of us when we really need it are funded by income tax contributions. I for one, see that as a form of "socialized medicine/insurance". If you have real difficulty paying back taxes, there are IRS employees trained to work with you to formulate a strategy you can afford. You have to ask for help, though, not just complain. Sometimes they'll even accept a reduced amount. I made a bad loan years ago, and defaulted according to them. They let me pick the amount I could pay back on a monthly basis. As to whether this guy is a terrorist, I'd say yes... He certainly terrorized some people in that building, but his intent was to target the IRS itself. There are certainly better ways to address grievances, this guy obviously couldn't cope with his bitterness in a productive way. I've never understood why people feel the need to take other, innocent people, with them if/when they decide to kill themselves. This is not martyrdom, but simply murder.

Don’t act like an idiot- and certainly don’t treat your audience like they are idiots. You know very well that Mr. Stack’s note was not only NOT rambling (rather concise and to the point; like a closing argument) but hit home to most American Citizens. Just because I consider him a hero does NOT make me a Tea Party crazie or Sarah Palin drone. Joe Stack: the modern American hero; at a time when the IRS can audit you anytime they choose and should you decide not to comply they can shoot you – OVER YOUR OWN HARD EARNED MONEY. And you call Mr. Stack a terrorist??! We declared independence from the English Government because they believed what was ours was theirs, that we were their slaves owing them a portion of our labor, that our privacy was subject to their will. Here we are 200 years later with the same government - men and women died to attain freedom then; what is freedom worth now? Nothing less than our blood, our lives for our children and our children's children. Let's hope the swine in Washington, Sacramento and all the other capitals take heed and change their ways before more of this. Here's to you, Mr. Stack.
So, yes – I’ll say it: anyone who comes into your home and demands you give them a portion of your earnings is not only a thief but is the enemy. When the enemy cannot be fought by peaceful means then the only answer is violence.
Tim King: Rot in hell Stack, guess that money won't do you much good now. I hear his wife and little kid barely escaped the fire. You DP are the enemy and so was this unAmerican loser.
Matt February 19, 2010 8:13 am (Pacific time)
This is truly a terrorist act best described as an isolated individual event, which the Christmas bombing attempt was first mistakenly characterized as. Not like the recent Fort Hood or that Xmas terrorist act(s) which were organized by those determined to kill all Americans, and non-believers in general. Maybe one should ask why has the below story, and those similar have received such little media play? "The U.S. Army is investigating allegations that soldiers were attempting to poison the food supply at Fort Jackson in South Carolina. The ongoing probe began two months ago, Chris Grey, a spokesman for the Army’s Criminal Investigation Division. CBN News has learned exclusively that five Muslim soldiers at Fort Jackson in South Carolina were arrested just before Christmas. It is unclear whether the men are still in custody. The five were part of the Arabic Translation program at the base. Patrick Jones, the Deputy Public Affairs Officer for Fort Jackson, confirmed for CBN News Thursday afternoon that an investigation was ongoing. Prior to this posting, CBN News learned that these details were also confirmed by a government official with knowledge of the investigation. The men are suspected of trying to poison the food supply at Fort Jackson. A source with intimate knowledge of the investigation, which is ongoing, told CBN News investigators suspect the "Fort Jackson Five" may have been in contact with the group of five Washington, D.C., area Muslims that traveled to Pakistan to wage jihad against U.S. troops in December. That group was arrested by Pakistani authorities, also just before Christmas. Coming as it does on the heels of November's Fort Hood jihadist massacre, this news could have major implications The Army is taking the allegations “extremely seriously,” Grey said. Five suspects, detained in December, were part of an Arabic translation program called "09 Lima" and use Arabic as their first language. Another military source said they were Muslim. http://blogs.cbn.com/stakelbeckonterror/archive/2010/02/18/update-five-muslim-soldiers-arrested-at-fort-jackson-in.aspx

Call Joe Stack a Liberal, a Conservative, a Subversive, a Terrorist, label him what you will. If it makes it easy to label what clearly you don't understand then by all means label him. But don't presume that by labeling him you'll either understand his act or be able to prevent others from acting in kind.
Editor: We understand he was a suicidal loser, and a murderer who wanted to kill my countrymen. I'll slap a label on the SOB's coffin.
Vic February 19, 2010 7:25 am (Pacific time)
This is the last part of Stack's suicide note...do any of you govt apologists dispute what he says? "I know I'm hardly the first one to decide I have had all I can stand. It has always been a myth that people have stopped dying for their freedom in this country, and it isn't limited to the blacks, and poor immigrants. I know there have been countless before me and there are sure to be as many after. But I also know that by not adding my body to the count, I insure nothing will change. I choose to not keep looking over my shoulder at "big brother" while he strips my carcass, I choose not to ignore what is going on all around me, I choose not to pretend that business as usual won't continue; I have just had enough. I can only hope that the numbers quickly get too big to be white washed and ignored that the American zombies wake up and revolt; it will take nothing less. I would only hope that by striking a nerve that stimulates the inevitable double standard, knee-jerk government reaction that results in more stupid draconian restrictions people wake up and begin to see the pompous political thugs and their mindless minions for what they are. Sadly, though I spent my entire life trying to believe it wasn't so, but violence not only is the answer, it is the only answer. The cruel joke is that the really big chunks of shit at the top have known this all along and have been laughing, at and using this awareness against, fools like me all along. I saw it written once that the definition of insanity is repeating the same process over and over and expecting the outcome to suddenly be different. I am finally ready to stop this insanity. Well, Mr. Big Brother IRS man, let's try something different; take my pound of flesh and sleep well. The communist creed: From each according to his ability, to each according to his need. The capitalist creed: From each according to his gullibility, to each according to his greed."
Joe Stack (1956-2010)
Tim King: Well Vic, I guess violence is perfectly OK with you, under the right conditions, and if the Marines work with Afghan forces to clear an area of baby killing Taliban, the Marines are bad, do I have that right? But this SOB is somehow excused for what he did? joe stack was a stack alright, a stack of crap. Screw him and the horse he rode in on. He's a dirty killer and there isn't a single good thing to say about him, no honor at all.

Lively debate on Joe Stacks webhost board supporting Joe and blasting the feds for trying to censor his words..Joe Stack is a hero of the people !
Editor: And you I presume are about 12 years old? I hope so, because you have a sad little mind working there, and it may not get better without professional help.

Once again the "do-nothings" and their perverse philosophy of "never ever fight back under any circumstances" are out in force. You scared whipped Americans deserve all the tyranny and oppression you will undoubtedly get. I agree with "Informed"...Joe Stack is a hero in my book...thank God our founding fathers werent a bunch of snivelling wimps, or we'd still be a colony of the crown. We need more like Mr Stack...war has been decared on the American people, but no one will fight. Subservient, submissive, scared, spineless sheep are what the American people have been reduced to. But hey, lets not use VIOLENCE...we only use that on brown people, right? I cant believe that S-N is taking the IRS side of this......

Joe stack is a patriot and a hero. The people in that building are not innocents. They are part of the machine that is dismantling the country. It has been proven time and again that doing dastardly deeds under the orders of others does not relieve the responsibility of correct action from the individual. Joe Stack did not attack a school or a church. He went to the one of the satellite offices of the federal government and took action. Anyone remember John Brown at Harper's Ferry.
Editor: You're going to compare an abolitionist to a guy who murders people because he's pissed off about his taxes? This creep was an enemy of the United States and it sounds like you are also, either way you're comparing the wrong things here pal, try Timothy McVeigh, then you might be getting close. I hope you don't go around telling people that you're pro American, because you are not and your philosphy is sad and twisted.

I don't know that I'd label him a terrorist at all. Whatever method he chose...plane, car, weapon, arson... He is still just one disturbed individual trying to go out with a bang and not caring who he takes with him. He has created no residual fear in my mind. I'm not worried there is 'more to come' from any group or sympathizers. I think you give him too much credit and almost martyrdom by even suggesting he's more than just a sick, angry, individual. By most popular definitions I would say that act brings merely anger and I don't think anyone should be intimidated, coerced, or left in a state of fear that some movement following behind him is going to come forward. That's my 2 cents.

why did that happen it is so sad seeing it
This jerk's neighbor February 18, 2010 6:21 pm (Pacific time)
I don't care what anybody says. This waste of space tried to kill innocent people by smashing a plane into a building. One other person is probably dead. He is a damned terrorist, no question.
Tim King: Thanks for your comment, any chance you would drop me an email? I don't need to use your name of you don't want me to, but I would love to hear what you can tell us about him. Any photos of him? Thanks, tim@salem-news.com
