(BOISE, Idaho) - Do you remember Pappy Boyington and the Black Sheep? This ultra famous Marine fighter pilot hero and squadron leader, was the subject of the American TV show, "Baa Baa Black Sheep" which was named for the famous VMA-214 'Black Sheep' Squadron. Greg 'Pappy' Boyington was one of the noted leaders during WWII, an ACE Fighter Pilot, POW, and recipient of the Medal of Honor. Robert Conrad portrayed Pappy in the television series. In the documentary he shares personal insights on Pappy and the TV show. The series ran for two years during the 1970's. It was a highly rated series, and was also in syndication. Today, the DVD of the first season is available, and a new generation is able to enjoy the show. The film has been shown at aviation events, like the prestigious Museum of Flight in Seattle, and at the world-famous EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. It has also been shown on several military bases around the country, and was honored to be included in the Veterans Day events at the U.S. Navy Memorial in Washington, DC. There will be a special film screening on March 25th, which is the National Medal of Honor Day. It will be in Boise, the state capitol, an appropriate commemoration for an Idaho-born Medal of Honor recipient.
