Update on American Legion Post 10 Fire

Anyone with information regarding the fire can call Albany Police detectives at 541-917-7686.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Albany Oregon American Legion Fire Albany veterans suffered a terrible loss July 3th when the American Legion Post 10 caught fire and burned after closing. Fortunately there were no injuries.

Albany Fire Spokesman Wanda Omdahl, said crews were able to access the burned building to retrieve several items.

Skull Used to ID Woman Missing Since 1974

A woman missing for decades, will finally be laid to rest.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Samilla Stewart of Sweet Home Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller reports that his detectives have recently matched a skull discovered in 1979 with the victim of a car crash that occurred in 1974.

Police Investigate Fatal Vehicle / Pedestrian Crash - Interstate 5 in Albany

The right southbound lane was closed for about 2 1/2 hours during the investigation.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Death investigation Oregon State Police troopers are continuing the investigation into Monday evening's fatal traffic crash that resulted in the death of a 41-year old man when he was struck by a vehicle while trying to cross the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 in the Albany area.

Albany Woman Dies After Being Struck by Car

The Oregon State Police Albany Area Command is continuing the investigation.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Pedestrian killed Police say a female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed Friday night on Highway 34 just of east of Interstate 5.

Lieutenant Mark Cotter with Oregon State Police says last night at approximately 10:25 p.m., the woman and two companions had stopped their vehicle on the eastbound shoulder of Highway 34 near milepost 11.

Pacific City Man Arrested for Murder in Missing Albany Fisherman Case

John Curtis Adkins has been missing since last July.

(PACIFIC CITY, Ore.) - 47-year old Erin Dean Rieman of Pacific City A Pacific City man is under arrest on Murder charges. Police say the arrest is connected to the disappearance of an Albany man missing since last July, who was the owner of a 47' fishing vessel.

The suspect was arrested in Oregon and is pending extradition to Washington State for arraignment related to the murder of 53-year old John Curtiss Adkins.

(ALBANY, Oregon) - Handcuffs Police say a Salem man was assaulted Monday evening at about 8:00 p.m. 47-year old Charles Peters told police he was assaulted by two men near the intersection of Pine and Commercial Street NE, according to Salem Police Lt. Steve Birr.
