11-Year-Old Portland Girl Critically Injured in Crash Near Woodburn

After impact, both vehicles continued forward over several hundred feet before stopping.

(WOODBURN, Ore. ) - woodburn crash photo An 11-year old girl was critically injured Thursday morning when the truck she was a passenger in collided with the back of a flatbed semi-trailer slowing for other traffic northbound on Interstate 5 north of Woodburn.

At approximately 11:00 AM a commercial truck pulling a flatbed semi-trailer driven by Ronald Wilson, age 37, from Mulino, was northbound on Interstate near milepost 274 approaching the exit lane for truck traffic to pull into the northbound truck scales.

Log Pile Fire in Woodburn Threatens Barn

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

(WOODBURN, Ore. ) - woodburn log fire On Tuesday just after 7:00 PM, Woodburn and Hubbard Fire Districts responded to a report of a barn fire at 12295 Dimmick Ln, in Woodburn.

On arrival the first engine found a log pile on fire threatening a barn.

Crews deployed lines to protect the barn and then extinguished the fire.

Name Released in I-5 Woodburn Interchange Death Investigation

Police say that just before 11:00 PM on June 1st, a transient found Mr. Gerow's body in the bushes east of the southbound exit 271 off ramp.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Death investigation update Oregon State Police detectives have contacted next of kin of an adult male found deceased Friday night on the east side of Interstate 5 in the Woodburn area.

The body of 54-year Bruce Brian Gerow was found by a transient individual in bushes near the southbound off ramp at exit 271. Preliminary investigation still indicates the death may be drug-related.

Oregon State Police Investigate Death at Woodburn Interchange

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Police hope toxicology results from the Medical Examiner confirm the cause of death of an adult male found in bushes Friday night on the east side of Interstate 5 in the Woodburn area.

Police believe the death may be drug-related. The man's name is withheld pending next of kin notification.

Oregon Man Arrested on Meth Charges, Furnishing Beer to Teen

The two children were turned over to a relative who responded to the scene.

(WOODBURN, Ore. ) - Samual_Gomez_Bravo An Oregon State Police trooper, with the assistance of an OSP drug dog, seized approximately one ounce of methamphetamine during a traffic stop Tuesday evening on Interstate 5 about one mile south of Woodburn.

Accompanying the suspect were two passengers, ages 14 and 3, one of which was also drinking a Corona beer provided by the suspect.

Prior to the stop, the trooper noted a juvenile male passenger, later determined to be 14 years of age, was drinking from a bottle of Corona beer.

Overnight Crash Near Woodburn Injures Two Keizer Residents

Alcohol appears to be a possible factor in the accident.

(WOODBURN, Ore. ) - crash investigation photo The Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Woodburn Police Department are investigating a crash that sent two people to the hospital.

Sgt. Jeff Wheeler says just after 11:00 PM, both agencies responded to a crash in the 1700 block of south Boonesferry road. The vehicle, a 2003 Mazda, was traveling southbound on Boonesferry road when it drove into a ditch.

Both occupants of the vehicle appeared to have been ejected from the car Wheeler said.

Woodburn Mother Cited After Daughter is Arrested for Tagging

The mother was cited for failure to supervise a minor committing a graffiti violation.

(WOODBURN) - woodburn police logo A Woodburn mother has been cited by police after her daughter was arrested last month for tagging a Woodburn business.

Woodburn police say they found graffiti on the Withers Lumber building on Young Street.

Officers later spotted two teen girls, ages 15 and 16, walking near the scene with spray paint and a knife.

During the standoff investigators determined that 70-year-old Loren Thompson, who lives at the address was inside the residence and Salinas was not letting him leave.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Arturo Ramirez is back in state custody At about noon yesterday Deputies received information from Hubbard PD that Arturo Salinass, the inmate reported to have escaped from the Santiam Correctional Institution over the weekend, was holed up inside.

The Marion County Interagency SWAT team was called to the scene. Over the course of more than five hours, negotiators spoke with Mr Salinas several times.
