Washington Man Arrested After Fatal Traffic Crash Leads to Death of 7 Yr Old Girl, Critical Injuries to Mother

It happened on Highway 395 in Hermiston

(PORTLAND) - Jesus Moras Nava A 29-year old Washington man is in custody following Wednesday night's fatal traffic crash in Hermiston that resulted in the death of a 7-year old girl and critical injuries to her mother. Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation.

According to Sergeant Seth Cooney, on March 19, 2014 at approximately 8:21 p.m., a 2010 Kia Soul driven by Leslie Roquez, age 29, from Irrigon, Oregon, was northbound on Highway 395 stopped in the left lane at the intersection with Punkin Center Road when it was struck from behind by a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee...

At Least Two Hurt in Vancouver Health Complex Shooting

The reported suspect is apparently in custody, he was taken down by security guards

(VANCOUVER) - Salem-News.com A gunman opened fire in Vancouver, Washington. Northwest Cable News (NWCN) reports that tt least two people have been shot. Police say it happened at a government facility in Clark County late this afternoon.

According to Northwest Cable News, The shooting happened at a health complex that includes the Veteran's Hospital in the 1600 block of East Fourth Plain Boulevard, just before 4 p.m., according to Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp.

US Energy Department Announces it Still Plans to Use Hanford as a National Radioactive Waste Dump

(SEATTLE) - Radioactive waste The U.S. Department of Energy (USDOE) will issue a formal "Record of Decision" in the Federal Register on Friday, December 13th stating that USDOE will plan to resume using Hanford as a national radioactive and chemical waste dump for waste from other USDOE weapons and nuclear facilities.

The region's largest citizen Hanford Clean-Up watchdog group, Heart of America Northwest, vowed to take "all legal, lobbying and organizing efforts necessary to continue to stop use of Hanford as a national radioactive chemical waste dump," said Gerry Pollet, the 16,000 member group's Executive Director.

(SACRAMENTO) - Unmarked police car used in traffic enforcement Every driver is potentially confronted with a traffic stop from an unmarked car with red lights. Police cars used in this revenue driving tactic look like other cars on the road; Ford Mustangs and Dodge Chargers are two commonly used models, and they are also driven every day by hundreds of thousands of non-cops. So what is a driver to do?

Washington resident Kevin Schmadeka says the cars are simply illegal, and he believes the use of unmarked cars creates a real hazard for motorists, by legitimizing the idea that any car on the road with a red light is a cop, it simply is not true.
