Two Injured in Serious Crash on Hwy 18 Near Otis

Both drivers had to be extricated from their vehicles.

(OTIS, Ore.) - A serious injury crash occurred on SR HWY 18 near MP 2 about 6:00 p.m. December 24, 2015. Two drivers were transported to Legacy Emmanuel Hospital and were listed in critical condition.

The preliminary investigation revealed a 1998 Nissan Maximum, driven by 34-year old Richard Loy JR., from Lake Oswego, was traveling westbound when his vehicle crossed the center-line.

Albany Man Loses Life In Crash On Highway 20 Near Lebanon

The driver was declared deceased on scene by emergency personnel.

(LINN COUNTY, Ore.) - A single vehicle crash on Highway 20 near milepost 11 drew OSP Troopers and emergency personnel to the scene just west of Lebanon about 8:00 a.m. Saturday.

According to authorities, preliminary information indicates a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder was traveling eastbound on Highway 20 near milepost 11 when the driver failed to negotiate a corner and the vehicle exited the highway. The vehicle rolled over and struck a tree.

Highway 20 Crash Near Santiam Junction Shuts Highway Down For Hours

Six people were transported by ground ambulance to Saint Charles Bend for various ranges of injuries.

(LINN COUNTY, Ore.) - A crash involving two vehicles on Highway 20 near milepost 77 (just east of Santiam Junction) brought Oregon State Troopers to the scene Christmas morning, about 10 am.

Preliminary information indicates a 2003 Chevy Tahoe was traveling eastbound on highway 20 when it lost control on the icy roadway. The Chevy crossed the centerline and struck a westbound 2005 Dodge Pickup nearly head-on.

Flood Advisories Issued Throughout Oregon

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - The National Weather Service has issued an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for the following counties through Friday morning, and may then be continued.

Heavy rain will continue through around 3 a.m. Friday, in addition to the several inches that have already fallen today. This may bring minor urban and small stream flooding through early Friday morning and create additional minor transportation issues on area highways and roads.

Light Snow Expected on Oregon`s Valley Floors

(SALEM, Ore.) - Light mixed winter precipitation is possible over much of southwest Washington and northwest Oregon Monday and Monday evening.

There is increasing confidence that some light snow, sleet, or freezing rain will fall especially in the colder, sheltered valleys of the coast range and the Cascade foothills, in the inland valleys including the Willamette Valley, the Columbia River Gorge, and upper Hood River Valley.

Week of Deadly and Serious Traffic Crashes Prompts Safety Message From Traffic Safety Team

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the north Oregon coast and the Coast Range from 3 p.m. today through Wednesday afternoon.

The watch includes the cities of Astoria, Cannon Beach, Tillamook, Netarts, Pacific City, Vernonia, Jewell, Sunset Summit, Lee's Camp and Trask.

Plane Crashes Onto Shop in Lebanon

The pilot and passenger were both conscious and talking with rescuers.

(LEBANON, Ore.) - A small airplane crashed onto a shop building with two aboard, Friday. At 12:31 p.m., the Lebanon Fire District was dispatched to 36144 Bohlken Dr for an aircraft crash.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a 2-seat light plane (a Van's RV-6A) had crashed on top of a shop building. Both occupants of the plane were still inside the aircraft.

Salem Police Participating In Traffic Safety Campaign

Increased awareness is important all year long.

(SALEM, Ore.) - The Salem Police Department is participating in the third of three traffic enforcement campaigns. The campaign began on August 24 and will run through September 6.

The increased patrols are during the daylight hours for the purpose of enforcing seatbelt, child restraint violations and cell phone use.
