Portland Stands In Solidarity With the People Of Egypt this Saturday.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Students United for Palestinian Equal Rights (SUPER) announces that Portland will stand in Solidarity with the people Of Egypt Saturday from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Pioneer Courthouse Square.

Inspired by the successful ouster of the tyrant of Tunisia and the continued mobilizations in that country for justice, the masses in Egypt have engaged in huge rallies for two days straight, fighting off vicious police attacks and mass arrests.

Officers Identified in Fatal Police Shooting

Police still haven't named the man who was shot to death.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Police line Portland Police have released the names of the officers involved in Sunday night's officer involved shooting that occurred in the closed down car wash along Southeast 82nd Avenue.

10-year veteran Jason Lile and 18-year veteran Larry Wingfield both fired at a male suspect who died from gunshot wounds.

An officer on the scene fired his gun after locating the shooting victim; starting an exodus of hundreds from the club.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Shooting investigation Portland Police say an officer was investigating a reported fight at Club 915, located at 915 Southwest 2nd Avenue this morning at 1:37 a.m., when he heard shots ring out and then located a shooting victim at Southwest 2nd and Taylor.

Lt. Kelli Sheffer with Portland Police, says a second officer arrived in the area of the shooting and saw the victim down on the ground.

Her family says they are concerned for her safety and miss her during the holidays; Elizabeth is not in trouble, she just needs to return to her home

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - 16-year old Elizabeth Donald 16-year old Elizabeth Donald is missing from the Portland area; now classified as a Endangered Runaway. Elizabeth was last seen on the 24th of November 2010. Police say she could be in the company of one or more adult males.

Elizabeth's ears are pierced, her nicknames are Lyz, Lizzie and Ellen. She has also gone by the name of Ellen in the past and also Madelyn.

UPDATE: Officer-Involved Shooting Under Investigation in SW Portland

The man shot by police is expected to survive.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Police Shooting Portland Police were involved in a shooting Monday evening in the 3500 block of Southwest Dakota Street.

Police say a 911 caller stated that her son was outside the house breaking windows, throwing things at the house and that he was armed with a machete and pacing in front of the residence.

Woman Dies in Crash on Broadway Bridge

One person in the car reportedly left the scene...

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Fatal crash Police responded to a vehicle accident on the west end of the Broadway Bridge this morning at approximately 5:30 a.m.

Lt. Kelli Sheffer with the Portland Police Bureau, says investigators determined that the vehicle from this morning's crash was traveling westbound on the Broadway Bridge when the vehicle was unable to stay on the roadway to the Northwest Lovejoy off ramp.

Portland Police Investigate Two Violent Kidnappings

(PORTLAND) - Portland Police Bureau On December 13, 2010, Portland Police responded to the area of Northeast 62nd Avenue and Broadway on the report of a female that had been attacked by an unknown male.

Officers arrived and spoke with a 20-year-old female who told police that she had been walking on 82nd Avenue that evening when she had been offered a ride by a Hispanic male in a green colored car.

Merkley Statement on Arrival of All-electric Nissan Leaf Vehicles in Portland

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Senator Jeff Merkley The U.S. Department of Energy highlighted the arrival of all-electric Nissan Leaf vehicles in Portland, Oregon Wednesday. Oregon’s I-5 corridor was selected as an early participant in the Electric Vehicle (EV) Project to deploy thousands of electric vehicles and charging stations in cities across the nation.

The EV Project is funded by the Recovery Act and has been expanded to include more charging stations in rural areas.
