FDA - Opioids for Pediatric Patients - How could you get it so wrong?

(MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.) - The purpose of the two-day meeting was to discuss prescription opioid analgesics for pediatric patients. The FDA experts and their egos were in plentiful supply as they fell over each other condoning opioids for pediatric patients.

Unfortunately the audience in the large auditorium was sparsely attended -- no Partnership for a Drug Free Kids and no advocacy organizations.

I participated in a "stakeholders" teleconference with Dr. Throckmorton to discuss the "FDA's strongest box warning on opioids". Or, did I?

(MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.) - I questioned if the FDA worked for pharma or was protecting the American people. Then I said -- "So far this year you have approved 7 or 8 extended release opioids -- when is enough enough? You have sat back while 26,000 people died this year alone."

My response to challenging Dr. Throckmorton was a voice saying the teleconference was over and I was disconnected.

FDA Advisory Committee:
Did you think your criminal incompetence would not be revealed?

The Advisory Committee's function should be to preserve lives -- not put them at risk.

(MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.) - Recently I attended an FDA Advisory Committee meeting where a new killer opioid called Arymo ER was under consideration to be unleashed in the U.S.

Lynn R. Webster, MD gave testimony and answered questions regarding the controversial extended release morphine tablet...when he had an expired license. The Advisory Committee may want to reconsider their recommendation of Arymo ER because they appear to have been misled (whether deliberately or not) and this could fall under the category of "unethical" or "criminal".

(MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.) - Last month I wrote an article about the FDA's approval of yet another dangerous extended release opioid to be unleashed on the public as we are fighting addictions and deaths in the tens of thousands.

As a result of my articles about the advisory committee of the FDA approving another extended release opioid -- this one based on a "cheap party study", I received the below email from a "press officer" at the FDA
