Amber Alert Canceled for Girl in Indiana

The Indiana State Police canceled the Amber Alert after the girl was found on Sunday night. There is no further information available at this time.

(TERRE HAUTE, Indiana) - The missing girl and suspect The Indiana State Police issued an Amber Alert on Sunday afternoon after a small girl was reportedly abducted in Vigo, Indiana, approximately 12 miles south of Terre Haute.

Police say the girl has been located.

Body Recovered From Ocean Near Depoe Bay

The body was found in 40 feet of water 1/2 mile south of Rocky Creek State Scenic Viewpoint in Lincoln County.

(DEPOE BAY, Ore.) - Area where the body was found near Depoe Bay, Oregon 5-31-08: Oregon State Police and the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office are investigating the discovery of a body Saturday afternoon in the Pacific Ocean south of Depoe Bay.

They say at this point that there are are no signs of foul play and the body has not been positively identified, according to Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Division Sergeant Todd Thompson.

Remains of C-130 Crew Missing From Vietnam War Recovered

The final chapters are written in a saga about 14 families who believed their loved ones never died at all.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Ribbons from a tribute page to Curtis Daniel Miller who was aboard the Air Force AC-130A Spectre gunship that was shot down over Laos in 1972. The remains of four U.S. servicemen, missing in action from the Vietnam War, have been identified and will be returned to their families for burial with full military honors. The Department of Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office announced the information today.

Police Need Public Help Locating Wanted Madras Man

Several central Oregon police agencies seek information on wanted Madras man.

(MADRAS, Ore.) - Police are looking for Carl Williams III Police are asking for the public's help in locating a Madras man wanted after two separate eluding incidents over the weekend in Jefferson and Deschutes counties.

28-year old Carl Jake Williams III of Madras was reportedly involved in the two incidents on Saturday and Sunday; he is wanted for eluding State, county and city police officers.

Investigators Seek Information in Vehicle Possibly Involved in Jessica Long Murder

Police say this is the last vehicle Jessica Long was known to be in.

(SALEM, Ore.) - This is the vehicle Jessica Long was last known to be in.  The Marion County Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's help in identifying a 1980's to 1990's Chevrolet or GM full size pick-up that investigators believe may be involved in the murder of 24-year old Jessica Long in Salem this week.

Commander Jason Myers with the Marion County Sheriff's Office says the pick-up is described as light in color, with a light colored canopy, and possibly having a broken side window.

Police Identify 24-Year Old Woman as Homicide Victim

They're seeking any information regarding the whereabouts and activities of Jessica Marie Long in the days and hours preceding her murder.

(SALEM, Ore.) - 24-year old Jessica Marie Long Marion County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report of an unresponsive person in the roadway approximately half of a mile east of State Highway 214 between Woodburn and Mt. Angel in Marion County, Oregon Wednesday night at 10:00 PM.

The deceased female has been identified as 24-year old Jessica Marie Long. She reportedly died from a gunshot.

Governor Kulongoski Signs Proclamation in Support of National Missing Children Day

Missing Children's Day also highlights the need for child safety education.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski again joined child safety advocates around the country in recognizing National Missing Children's Day, an annual reminder first proclaimed in 1983 by President Ronald Reagan that everyone can play a part in bringing a missing child home and that child protection must be a national priority.

Governor Kulongoski signed a proclamation announcing May 25th, 2008 as Missing Childrens' Awareness Day in Oregon.

Human Remains Found on Willamette Island are Female

The remains appear to be of an elderly female with a height between 5'3" and 5'6".

(SALEM, Ore.) - Deputies learned May 11th that human remains were discovered on an island in the Willamette River.

Commander Jason Myers with the Marion County Sheriff's Office, says the human skeletal remains were located by a kayaker who stopped on the small island that occupies a section of the river between Salem and Independence, Oregon.
