Memorial Service for Marion County Deputy Kelly Fredinburg Set

The memorial service is open to the public.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Kelly Fredinburg The Memorial Service for Marion County Deputy Kelly Fredinburg will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, at the Salem Armory, located at 2320 17th Street N.E. in Salem.

The processional will go through the city of Salem and end at the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training, located on Aumsville Hwy SE in front of the Memorial Walls.

The procession will leave the Armory directly after the memorial service which starts at 2:00 PM and will end around 3:30 or 4:00 PM.

Marion County Deputy Sheriff, Father of Two, Killed in Car Crash

Deputy KELLY JAMES FREDINBURG, age 33, joined the Marion County Sheriff's Office in August 2006.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - fatal crash photo A Marion County Deputy Sheriff was killed and three others injured Saturday night in a two vehicle head-on crash on Highway 99E north of Gervais.

Preliminary investigation indicates the Deputy had his marked patrol car emergency lights and siren activated.

The patrol car crashed head-on with a northbound white Ford Crown Victoria.

Wheatland Ferry Closed Due to Low River Levels

The ferry is located one mile north of the Yamhill–Polk county border.

FBI Spokesperson Beth Anne Steele says investigators are hoping that someone will recognize him and call with information.

Marion County Deputies See Rash of Speeders Exceeding 100 MPH

In 2005, the county saw 1,523 speed related crashes with 23 fatalities.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Car being pulled over at night Marion County Sheriff's Office Traffic Team Deputies say they have encountered a high volume of motorists driving at speeds in excess of 100 mph over the past week.

In one case after another, the drivers were arrested for the high speed violations and taken to jail.

Backyard Burn Ban Starts June 16th in Marion and Linn Counties

These burn restrictions expand the geographical scope to include areas outside the three- and six-mile limit.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Burning ban art All open and backyard burning will be prohibited beginning June 16th in those portions of Marion and Linn Counties that lie within the Santiam Unit of Oregon Department of Forestry's North Cascade District.

The Department of Forestry is cooperating with several local fire departments including Idanha-Detroit, Gates, Mill City, Lyons, Stayton, Sublimity, Silverton, Drakes Crossing, Aumsville, Turner and Jefferson. Only permitted and approved logging slash burning and agricultural burning will be allowed depending on weather conditions.

Marion County Sheriff Recovering from Quadruple Bypass Surgery

Ramirez has been Marion County Sheriff since 1997.

(SALEM) - Raul Ramirez On Saturday, May 12th, Marion County Sheriff Raul Ramirez underwent quadruple bypass surgery at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland.

The surgery went well and he is recovering.

Doctors say recovery is likely to take several weeks.

(SALEM, Ore.) - 26-year old Kit Milo Brittain of Salem The Marion County Sheriffs Office is seeking help from the public in locating 26-year old Kit Milo Brittain of Salem.

Randy Corey with the Marion County Sheriff's Office says Brittain is wanted on a probation violation warrant for the charge of Menacing.

"He is being described by his Probation Officer as a danger to the public and mentally unstable."

Marion County Offering Amnesty for Dog License Violators

All owners and keepers of dogs in Marion County are required by law to purchase a license when a dog reaches six months of age.

(KEIZER) - cute dog photo Marion County Dog Control will offer amnesty for late fees and licensing violations as well as licenses and vaccinations from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM Saturday, May 5th, at Copper Creek Mercantile, 4415 River Rd NE in Keizer.

Dr. Susan MacCarthy, DVM, will provide low-cost vaccinations, health exams, microchipping and flea products for both dogs and catsfrom her mobile clinic at the Marion County licensing booth.

Licenses are $17 a year for neutered or spayed dogs and $32 for unaltered dogs.
