Mom and Four Kids Injured in Single Vehicle

The family's dog, Kami, was also thrown from the vehicle and last seen running from the crash scene. She is a one year old border collie/rottweiler mix.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Crash investigation A single vehicle crash on Delaney Road SE in Marion County led to the injuries of a mom and three of her kids tonight at 7:25 p.m. according to Lt. Sheila Lorance with the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

She says the driver, 32-year old Shannan E. Hoagland of Salem, was Eastbound in a 1981 Jeep CJ5 on Delaney Road when her vehicle left the roadway, traveled down an embankment, flipped over and struck a tree.

Lyons Man Faces Multiple Charges for Running from Police

Deputies and a K-9 tracked the suspect for several hours and located him near 119th and Waldo Hills Road; over 4 miles away from where the pursuit began.

(LYONS, Ore.) - 36-year old Eric Ray Harvey Marion County deputies in Salem arrested a man on numerous charges this morning that stem from a stolen vehicle incident and a lengthly chase involving a deputy's K9.

36-year old Eric Ray Harvey, of Lyons, Oregon faces charges related to vehicle theft, and the assault and harassment of a police animal. He also faces charges for fleeing police.

Two Burglaries Under Investigation in Santiam Canyon

Investigators aren't sure if the burglaries are connected.

(SANTIAM CANYON, Ore.) - Marion County Sheriff's Office Marion County Sheriff's Office responded to the report of a Burglary that had just occurred at the Sierra Restaurant and Market in Gates Wednesday around 4:00 a.m.

Lt. Sheila Lorance with the Marion County Sheriff's Office says the owner had been notified by his Security Company that an alarm had been activated at the Restaurant/Market and he called 9-1-1.

Sheriff`s Patrol Vehicle Severely Damaged in Freeway Collision

The tow truck driver, a retired Captain from the Turner Fire Department, had the training and background to provide medical attention to the injured driver until medics arrived.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Crashed Marion County Sheriff's car Marion County Deputy Scott Kometz was investigating a non-injury crash just after 3:30 a.m. today near the Delaney Road overpass in the South bound lanes of I-5.

The Sheriff's Office says a Precision Tow truck had just arrived to assist in moving the vehicle that had lost control because of icy road conditions.

Man Reportedly Tries to Abduct 12-Year Old

The suspect is described as a skinny Hispanic male, late 30's or early 40's, five foot eight to five foot ten inches tall, with a mustache, driving a black older model Honda 4-door with faded paint.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Attempted Abduction Marion County deputies in Salem responded to the 4800 block of Satter Drive NE regarding an attempted abduction last evening around 5:30 p.m.

Lt. Sheila Lorance with the Marion County Sheriff's Office says the victim, a 12-year old boy, reported that around 5:30 p.m., he was walking home from a friend's house.

Deputies Arrest Salem Man for Driving 120 MPH

Police say that in Oregon, speeding is the number one contributor to death and injury in traffic crashes.

(SALEM, Ore.) - 19-year old Cesar Arevalo A driver on eastbound Highway 22 in a Black 1994 Toyota Camry was observed traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed this morning.

A Marion County deputy tried to pull the car over, but the suspect was reportedly traveling at over 120 miles per hour, directly into the bright sun and it appeared he may not have been able to see the patrol vehicle behind him.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Marion County Sheriff's Office The Sheriff's Office received information Friday from a Marion County Circuit Court Judge today indicating their office had received numerous calls from people concerned they missed jury duty.

Lt. Shelia Lorance with the Marion County Sheriff's Office, says the callers said they had received a phone call from a male subject indicating he was calling from the Courts and they had missed Jury Duty on February 3rd.

(UPDATE) Missing Salem Area Woman Located

The Marion County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that Jessica Marie Arce has been located in the State of Iowa.

(SALEM, Ore.) - 31-year old Jessica Marie Arce 31-year old Jessica Arce is safe; police say she traveled to Iowa on her own, however, it is unknown at this time why she didn't make contact with her family or let anyone know where she was going.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office would like to thank those people who helped look for Jessica as well as the calls that came in from concerned citizens.

Drowning Victim Identified

The man's body was discovered just over a week ago.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Death Investigation Family members of a drowning victim whose body was discivered in January, were contacted and have identified the body as that of 23-year old Stephen Luis Shaver.

Stephen Shaver's remains were located by the Marion County Sheriff's Office on January 10th 2009, when they responded to a report of a body found along the bank of the North Fork River at the North Fork County Park.

Lt. Sheila Lorance with the Marion County Sheriff's Office, says when deputies arrived, it appeared the body had been in the water for some time and it was difficult to make an immediate identification.
