Long Time Sublimity Volunteer Firefighter Dies

(Sublimity, Oregon) - Jerry Heater It is with deep regret the Sublimity Fire District announces the death of long time volunteer firefighter Jerry Heater. Jerry passed away yesterday morning at Salem Hospital as a result of a heart attack.

Jerry just recently started his 52nd year in the fire service. Jerry started with Corvallis Fire and worked for Jefferson Fire District and Tualatin Rural Fire District (now Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue).

People don't realize how significant this is to the present day.

(CLEVELAND) - Imus and Dr. Laura Many Americans believe racial bigotry is a thing of the past; but an examination of very recent developments in the United States does not really support that theory. If America was healed from its racial past, the problems today would be very different.

Those who are not prejudiced and assume the same about others of their own race, do represent a significant part of the population. Ignorance may be bliss, but that is not what this country is really about.

(CAPE TOWN ) - Green Point Stadium A group of 10 boys left Green Point Stadium, disappointed that their team had lost their World Cup Last 16 match. But not too disappointed.

The schoolboys were from Gaza, and they were in South Africa as guests of the United Nations (UN). They won an academic contest and their reward was a five-day trip to see a match live at the World Cup – and the outside world.
