Fatal Crash Halts Highway and Ignites Forest Fire (PHOTOS)

The vehicle fire sparked a forest fire in the area that burned around an acre and a half.

Wildfire Precaution Levels Rise in NW Oregon

Wildfire season is here, officials ask Oregon residents to be careful.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Wildfire Triple-digit temperatures forecast for this week along with a chance of thunderstorms toward the weekend have prompted the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) to increase fire safety restrictions on industrial activity on northwestern private and non-federal public forestlands effective Tuesday morning.

Within ODF's Northwest Oregon Fire Protection District (includes the Astoria, Forest Grove and Tillamook districts), the Industrial Fire Precaution Levels (IFPL) will move up at 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The IFPLs regulate logging activity during the wildfire season.

Saturday a Busy Day for Forestry Fire Crews

Forecasts through much of the state are calling for high temperatures, low humidity, instability in the atmosphere, low to moderate east winds and the possibility of lightning in eastern Oregon.

(BEND, Ore.) - File photo of a Fire in Central Oregon Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) fire crews are responding to two regions of the state to battle wildfires that started Friday.

Kevin Weeks with the Oregon Dept. of Forestry, says in eastern Oregon, the McGinnis Creek fire, located near Kimberly in Grant County, began Friday afternoon and has spread to 1,200 acres.

Portland Fire Responds to Commercial Fire with Hazardous Materials Burning (PHOTOS)

Fire officials say in spite of the intensity, there were no civilian or firefighter injuries, nor any environmental damage.

Keizer Youth Receives Keizer`s Top Life Saving Award (PHOTOS)

The Bob Wickman Lifesaving award is the highest honor the Keizer Fire District can bestow on a person for their efforts to save another's life.

(KEIZER, Ore.) - KFD Board President Greg Ego presesnts Wickman Award to B.J. Delagado He may only be 14-years old, but B.J. Delgado is responsible for his family being alive. B.J. was presented the Bob Wickman Lifesaving Award by the Keizer Fire District this week.

The presentation was made at the beginning of the July meeting of the Keizer Fire District Board of Directors.

Jefferson Firefighters Extinguish Four Alarm Grass Fire

The fire did not burn anything of value, but came close to spreading to a standing wheat field.

(JEFFERSON, Ore.) - Jefferson Oregon firefighters at brush fire 7-19-09 Jefferson Firefighters were called to a brush fire near the Jefferson-Scio Drive and Greensbridge Rd at 2:55 Sunday afternoon.

Anne-Marie Penge with the Jefferson Fire District, says approximately a 1/4 acre of brush and grass was burning when firefighters arrived.

18-Year Old Male Pulled from the Molalla River and Airlifted to OHSU

The victim was airlifted by Lifeflight to OHSU. He was listed as serious but stable by Paramedics.

(CANBY, Ore.) - Oregon river Canby Fire was dispatched to an unknown medical incident on S. Railroad, in the City of Barlow, today at approximately 3:39 p.m.

Information given to rescuers enroute advised that an 18-year old male had been pulled from the Molalla River, and was being transported via ATV to the listed address, which was approximately 1/4 mile from where the situation occurred, according to Canby Fire Spokesman Troy Buzalski.

Fire Displaces Hillsboro Couple

Hillsboro Fire and Rescue reminds all residents to be aware of possible overloading of electrical circuits. And encourages home owners to unplug appliances when they are not in use.

(HILLSBORO, Ore.) - Fire in Hillsboro, Oregon 7-16-09 Early Thursday evening the neighbors of Jesse and Sonja Sanders called 9-1-1 to report a fire at the Sanders home on 2107 SE Currin Lane in Hillsboro.

Bruce Montgomery with Hillsboro Fire, says the Sanders had left for church just minutes before smoke was spotted coming from a window on the south side of the house. Hillsboro fire crews were dispatched at 7:27 p.m.

Firefighters` Blitz Attack Keeps Happy Valley Home From Being Total Loss (PHOTOS)

Home partly saved by quick action of fire crews from Clackamas.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Clackamas Fire crews responded to a large house on fire in Happy Valley this morning at 7:25 a.m. Sunday July 12th. It happened at 12375 SE Eagle Glen Drive in Happy Valley.

Clackamas Fire's Public Information Officer, Steve McAdoo, said, "Many neighbors called and reported everything from massive amounts of smoke in the area to a home fully engulfed in flames. It was also reported that the homeowners were on vacation. They did return to the home."

Oregon Wildfire Update

Since the beginning of the new year, 305 fires in Oregon have burned approximately 1194 acres.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon wildfire Fire officials say mop up is still taking place on the 534 acre lightning-caused Twelve Mile Fire near Ritter Hot Springs about 12 miles north of the town of Long Creek. Today, one crew and one engine are completing interior mop up on this fire, which was contained yesterday.

Beyond that, no new fires 10-acres or greater, have been reported to the Salem Coordination Center.
