Five Arrested in Canby Gang Fight

One of the gang members was also the victim of last weeks drive by shooting that occurred at his apartment on S Knott Street in Canby.

(CANBY) - Canby police Canby police responded to the report of a gang fight in the area of SE 2nd Ave and S Juniper Street in Canby yesterday at 3:40 PM.

Upon arrival, officers were confronted by five gang members, four Surenos and one Norteno.

Three of the Surenos broke glass bottles in front of one of the officers and were holding the broken glass in their hands.

Two Juveniles Arrested in Canby Gang Fight

The otherwise quiet Oregon farm town has been dealing with escalating gang activity.

(CANBY) - Arrest scene at Canby, Oregon gang fight Canby Police say two juveniles were arrested over a gang fight that occurred in Canby at about 2:49 PM Thursday. The fight was at the intersection of SE Township Rd and S Lupine Street.

Canby Police Officer Chris Mead says a 15-year old male that has local gang ties and a 13-year old male associated with a different and possibly rival gang, were arrested for Disorderly Conduct and lodged at the Clackamas County Juvenile Department.

Police Investigate Drive-By Shooting in Canby Oregon

The apartment, which has ties to the Norteno Gang, was believed to have been targeted as retaliation for a beating involving a rival gang member a few days before.

(CANBY) - Residents in Canby reported hearing two gunshots and a vehicle driving away at 1:49 AM Monday morning at 282 S Knott Street.

Canby Police officers responding to the report of a drive by shooting recovered three rounds from the apartment. Two rounds were located inside the apartment lodged in a couch and a third round was located lodged in a step near the front door.

Two Injured in Four Vehicle Crash in Canby

Fog in the area may have played a role in the accident.

(CANBY) - At approximately 7:00 AM, Canby Fire was dispatched to a four car motor vehicle crash.

Initial reports indicated that there were several patients, and at least two unconscious victims.

Because of the morning fog, Life Flight was not available, so the Incident Commander requested an additional ambulance to assist with patient transportation, which in this case came from Oregon City.

Boy Injured While Stunt Riding on Bike Without a Helmet Requires LifeFlight Activation

Witnesses said the boy may have been trying to copy a stunt made famous by a particular motorcycle stunt rider.

(CANBY) - Bike accident and LifeFlight Firefighters from Canby were dispatched to a bicycle accident in the 800 block of NW 1st Street.

Crews arrived on the scene at 5:00 PM and found a 10 year-old boy who had crashed on his bike and suffered serious injuries to his face, head and shoulder.

Witnesses say the boy was standing on his pegs and letting go of the handle bars while riding down a steep downhill grade.

600 Pound Cow Recovered After Plunging 24 Feet Into a Well - Photos

The owners say they aren't sure whether they should name the newly purchased Angus Miracle or Jessica.

(CANBY) - Canby cow A cow that fell nearly twenty five feet into a well, kept Canby firefighters and a support team busy for several hours on Sunday. Crews were called to 2742 SE Territorial Road, in Canby at 10:30 this morning.

When crews arrived they were directed into the location by the cow's owners, Tony and Bev Pezl. Canby Firefighters found that the 600 pound Angus Cow had broken through a series of railroad ties, then fallen into the well.

Canby Man Falls Near River`s Edge

Steep, winding trails, an injured patient, and plenty of Poison Oak made for a challenging but successful recovery.

(CANBY) - Pictures of recovery Canby Firefighters responded to a report of a leg injury at Molalla River State Park Sunday afternoon around 4:30. The park is located on the Willamette River near the Canby Ferry crossing.

Division Chief Troy Buzalsky of Canby says that when fire crews arrived, a friend of the victim met them at the entrance to a steep and narrow trail.

Third Alleged Victim in Police Impersonator Case Comes Forward

Police say the suspect wore a shirt with bright letters reading "Undercover Police"

(CANBY) - Bronco used in crime A third victim of the Canby Police Officer Impersonation Case has come forward. The victim reported that he was contacted about a week ago by the suspect, 27-year-old David Joseph Leininger, while he was with his family in the area of Ackerman Jr. High in Canby.

The victim reported that he was talking to his son when Leininger drove up in a red Ford Bronco with flashing lights and blocked his vehicle.

Leininger allegedly told the victim that he should not be talking rude to his son (the victim's son) and that he was patrolling the area and would be watching him.

Canby Police Arrest Man For Impersonating a Police Officer

Police say David Leininger, allegedly to stopped two vehicles Wednesday night. In one case he handcuffed an 18-year-old female driver.

(CANBY) - handcuffed hands Canby Police learned that 27-year-old David Leininger allegedly stopped another vehicle after he stopped an 18-year-old female driver in Canby on N Cedar Street at NW 6th.

The first victim was stopped at about 11:15 PM.

The second victim, who just recently came forward, told Officers he was stopped on Knights Bridge Road near Barlow road by a male driving a red Ford Bronco with flashing lights.
