Oregon Driver Escapes Injury During Highway Landslide

Traffic was delayed for several hours due to the slide.

(CANBY, Ore.) - landslide on Oregon Highway 99E 10-18-07 Oregon's Highway 99E was hit by mud and rock landslide today near Canby, and firefighters and rescue personnel say a passengers in a vehicle passing through at the moment it happened are luck to not be hurt.

The embankment along 99E slid into a northbound travel lane at 8:59 AM, littering the highway with rock and debris the slide hit a mini van that was traveling northbound along highway 99E, Canby Fire Division Chief Buzalsky said.

Oregon Woman Scammed by Promise of Gold

A woman was tricked into handing over $1,000 in exchange for gold that was never delivered.

(CANBY, Ore.) - Surveillance pictures from Oregon gold scam, 9-27-07 A 29-year old Canby woman told police she was scammed out of $1000.00 Monday by two men who approached her in a store. The woman told police she was shopping in the Canby Fred Meyer when she was approached by a man she described as an older Hispanic male.

Canby Man Jailed on Strangulation and Assault Charges

Police say two other witnesses were uncooperative in their investigation.

(CANBY, Ore.) - Kenneth V. Fisher, also uses the name Kenneth V. Shultes A Canby man is in custody on a number of charges that left a woman beaten and cut, and two other people with apparent knife injuries.

Police say Kenneth V. Fisher, who also uses the name Kenneth V. Shultes, was at located at 181 NE 5th ave in Canby and arrested for Strangulation, Assault II, and Assault IV charges.

Three Alarm Fire Erupts in Downtown Canby

Before it was over, nearly 50 firefighters were called to battle the blaze.

(CANBY, Ore.) - Fire at Canby Kitchen, Canby, Oregon As Canby Fire Medic Units were responding to a medical first aid at 7:45 PM, a firefighter named Matt English says he noticed a smoky haze drifting across 99E.

As they continued to respond to the seizure call they rounded the corner from s 99E onto N Grant Street, they found heavy smoke pouring from the rooftop of the Canby Country Kitchen, located at 314 NW 2nd Ave.

UPDATE: 5-Year-Old Boy Dies from Injuries After Tree Branch Falls on Tent

Prior to the Fire Departments arrival two bystanders had already removed the 20 foot-long, several hundred pound branch from the boy.

(CANBY, Ore. ) - tree on tent photo Ethan Hansen has died after suffering traumatic head injuries when a tree branch broke and landed on the tent he and friends were sleeping in.

Just before 11:00 PM Thursday night, Clackamas County 911 was notified by the father of a 5-year-old boy that a tree branch had broken from and landed on the tent his son and friends were sleeping in.

Couple Arrested in Canby for Assaulting Each Other After Girlfriend Points Rifle

This entire incident occurred after both suspects had been drinking all night and got into an argument over the male going to work.

(CANBY, Ore.) - Andrea Wise and Dondi Foster On Saturday morning about 8:40 AM, Canby Police Officers responded to the report of a disturbance involving a rifle at 2750 N Maple Court.

The caller told dispatch that a man and woman were fighting in the front yard and the man had taken a rifle from the female and threw it in a flower bed.

When officers arrived they could see empty Budweiser cans strewn across the yard and into the street.

Driver Life Flighted After Single Car Rollover in Canby

The victim was found in her seatbelt after rolling 6 to 8 times.... which firefighters say probably saved her life.

(CANBY, Ore.) - Rollover crash near Canby 52407 Canby Firefighters were dispatched to a one car rollover around 5:30 PM at the intersection of Hwy 170 and Heinz.

Canby Fire District Spokesman Troy Buzalsky says they initial dispatch reported that the vehicle had rolled over 6 to 8 times before landing on its tires.

When firefighters arrived they found an 18-year old female driver who was injured and required extrication from her vehicle, which was in the middle of a tall grassy field.

Victim Identified in May 3rd Fatal Train vs Pedestrian Incident North of Canby

Anyone with information regarding Kevin Anthony Briggs' next of kin is asked to contact the Clackamas County Medical Examiner's Office at (503) 655-8380.

(CANBY, Ore.) - A man killed last Thursday afternoon when he was struck by a Union Pacific Railroad train as he walked across the tracks in front the southbound train has been positively identified.

The victim's name is being released but investigators and the medical examiner's office have not been able to identify or locate next of kin.

Police Investigate Fatal Crash Involving Freight Train

Oregon State Police and local emergency responders are on scene as well as Union Pacific Railroad law enforcement personnel.

(CANBY, Ore.) - Railroad tracks Oregon State Police troopers are on the scene of a, fatal pedestrian accident reported along Highway 99E near South End Road, north of Canby.

Investigators on the scene say they have been determined the situation was caused by a collision with a Union Pacific Railroad train.
