Gas Price Hikes Follow Crude Oil Price Increases

Gas prices are up for the third week in a row, as the national average for regular unleaded jumps eight cents this week to $2.64 while Oregon's average shoots up ten cents to $2.79.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Gas prices Oregon AAA says pump prices have increased every day since July 21, until today, when the national average dropped two-tenths of a cent overnight.

Gas prices are up for the third week in a row, but are still well below last year's record levels. The national average for regular unleaded jumps eight cents this week to $2.64 while Oregon's average shoots up ten cents to $2.79.

Police Identify Four Teens Killed in Crash Near Clatskanie

Quadruple Fatal Traffic Crash on Highway 30 also injures another driver and a fifth teen.

(CLATSKANIE, Ore.) - Fatal crash, Clatskanie, Oregon 8-10-09 Police say four teenagers died and a fifth was critically injured Monday morning when the sport utility vehicle they were in collided with a van on Highway 30 about one mile west of Clatskanie in Columbia County.

The teenagers are from Clark County, Washington and their names are not being released until after Oregon State Police investigators have confirmed next of kin notifications are completed.

Triple Homicide Suspect Captured in Thurston County, Washington

Police have been searching for the man for days.

(OYLMPIA, Wash.) - 42-year old Gregory Alvin Cook The suspect wanted in connection with three murders in Union County, Oregon was captured in Thurston County, Washington less than an hour ago.

42-year old Gregory Alvin Cook, aka Gregory Alvin Mitts, was arrested by Thurston County Sheriff's Office working in cooperation with the Union County Major Crime Team.

The suspect vehicle is a 1994 Ford Explorer Washington license plate number 255UBD.

(KITTITAS, Wash.) - 3-year old Preston Norris and 2-year old Parker Norris. Police in Washington say two male juveniles, Parker Norris and Preston Norris, were taken by their mother, Nicole Butcher, this morning from their residence in Kittitas, Washington.

The first victim is Parker Norris is a White Male, 2 Years Old, 2 feet 10 inches tall, 35 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. The second victim, 3-year old Preston Norris, a white male, is three feet tall, weighs 35 pounds, with blonde hair and green eyes.

LOCATED SAFE - Missing Fishing Boat Crew Contacts Coast Guard

The Kay Ann was missing but Coast Guard officials are in contact and the crew is safe.

(ASTORIA, Ore.) - Coast Guard C-130 aircraft The crew of the 39-foot fishing vessel Kay Ann contacted the Coast Guard at approximately 1:30 p.m. Friday. The crew of the Kay Ann were two hours from Astoria when they called to inform officials they were fine.

The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Mellon, homeported in Seattle, and two C-130 Hercules search plane crews from Coast Guard Air Station Sacrame
nto, Calif., searched for the boat since late Thursday after the Kay Ann was reported overdue.

Ruben Ateaga was arrested for charges of Murder and second-degree Assault.

(VANCOUVER, Wash.) - Handcuffs Clackamas County Sheriff's Office detectives arrested the suspect believed responsible for the July 12th stabbing murder in Happy Valley. Clackamas Jim Strovink says the arrest was made Thursday around 5:45 p.m., "with the generous cooperation of the Vancouver Police Department."

(LONG BEACH, Wash.) - John Adkins and his vessel Oregon State Police detectives are assisting Long Beach, Washington police with the investigation of a missing Albany man last seen July 5th at the Port of Ilwaco on the south Washington coast.

Sergeant Kevin Martin with the Long Beach, Washington Police Department, says 53-year old John Curtis Adkins, left with two men on the 48-foot fishing vessel "Tiger" from Garibaldi, Oregon on the Fourth of July weekend, heading for Ilwaco, Washington.
