Syrian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Jihad Makdissi said on Sunday that Damascus holds “armed groups” responsible for recent deadly clashes in Houla.

Syria strongly criticized the wording of a United Nations Security Council statement on the recent massacre of civilians in the town of Houla in the west of the country.
On Sunday, the Syrian Ambassador to the United Nations, Bashar Ja’afari censured "the tsunami of lies that were said a few minutes ago by some members of the council,” AFP reported.

The UN Security Council has issued a statement condemning "in the strongest possible terms" the massacre of civilians in the Syrian village of Houla, during which more than 100 people are reported to have been killed.

Syrian Government Denies Involvement in Houla Massacre

Damascus condemned the attack Saturday, saying it had no involvement in the massacre, and accused “terrorist” groups of being behind it.
(ROME / MOSCOW) -
Damascus has refuted accusations of being behind a ruthless attack in Houla where over 90 civilians were killed.
Political analyst Ibrahim Alloush told Russia Today those killed were actually Assad loyalists, and the timing is suspicious.

Mazen Darwish, the head of the Damascus-based Syrian Centre for Media and Freedom of Expression (SCM), and 15 of his colleagues were arrested by Air Force Intelligence officers during a raid on the centre on 16 February.
According to our sources, he has been badly tortured in detention.

What did Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the Obama Administration, NATO, Israel, Turkey and UNIFIL know about the alleged arms shipment to “rebels” in Syria, and when did they know it?
It would be an incautious stretch to suggest any sort of parity between Watergate and the unfolding Lutfallah II arms shipment to Syria drama, that each day brings more revelations.
