Army Chicken Spit ~ Army Suicides: Who`s Running that Show?

The suicide statistics of the 101st at Fort Campbell are more disgusting than frightening, with 115 in 2007, 133 in 2008 and 64 at the time of this stand down. Ft Campbell has the highest suicide rate with the Army or Marines, why?

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Military death tribute I have written before about Army and Veteran suicides which is a national disgrace. When I heard about Fort Campbell, the home of the 101st Screaming Eagle Paratroopers, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

I decided I’d better push this up on my computer and there it was. BRIGADIER GENERAL STEPHEN TOWNSEND WAS BERATING HIS TROOPS WITH “ITS GOT TO STOP NOW” AND “SCREAMING EAGLES DON’T QUIT”, WHICH WAS THE MAIN PART OF HIS SUICIDE PREVENTION PROGRAM.

Oregon Man Reportedly Murdered Two Children Before Committing Suicide

The bodies of the two kids, ages 6 and 7, were discovered along with their 45-year old father by a hiker.

(HILLSBORO, Ore.) - death investigation Police say a father is responsible for the Murder of two Hillsboro kids yesterday.

Their bodies were found by a hiker Friday around 1:00 p.m. in the Jackson Bottom Nature Preserve, along with the body of the father, who apparently took his own life.

Hillsboro Police have released some new information in the murder-suicide case and they have identified the deceased.

UPDATE - Oregon Guard Soldier Commits Suicide at Anderson Readiness Center

Troopers say a soldier who committed suicide this morning was not set to deploy to Iraq with the 41st BCT.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Anderson Readiness Center in Salem Oregon State Police detectives say they are continuing the investigation into the suicide of an Oregon National Guard soldier who died Friday morning from a self-inflicted gunshot wound as he sat in his vehicle in the west parking lot at the Anderson Readiness Center in Salem.

According to the Oregon Military Department, the 25-year old man was not slated for deployment nor has he deployed with the ONG. His name is withheld pending completion of next of kin notifications.

Freddie Mac Acting CEO David Kellermann Found Dead in his Home

The death was an apparent suicide.

(NEW YORK) - David Kellermann The acting CEO of embattled financial giant Freddie Mac (FRE), David Kellermann, was found dead at his home early Wednesday, police in Fairfax County police in New York.

An officer named Shelley Broderick with Fairfax PD, said Mr. Kellermann's body was found after a call that was placed at 4:48 a.m. She added that there were no apparent signs indicating foul play.

I predicted two years ago on Salem-News.com that the PTSD and suicide rates of this war would be catastrophic from my own experience.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Military suicide I listened to Katy Couric's story about excessive and worrisome Army suicides on Thursday, April 8th, on CBS. This did not surprise me.

I was a Combat Infantryman, point man, Battalion scout and forward observer in the Infantry during WWII for about two months. When I tell this to fellow Infantry battle veterans, they usually say, "No, you weren't."

Police Serve Search Warrants & Arrest Members of Final Exit Network

Assisted Suicide investigation leads to several arrests and more may still be pending, police say.

(DECATUR, Georgia) - Georgia Bureau of Investigation Police with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested two members of the Final Exit Network in North Georgia Thursday, for their suspected involvement in the June 19, 2008 assisted suicide of a 58-year-old Cumming man.

John Bankhead with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation says two others have been charged in Maryland in connection with their involvement in this death.

Anaka & Burr Call for Prompt Top Level DOD/VA Meeting on Military Suicides

If the suspected incidents are confirmed, the number of suicides last month would surpass the number of troops killed in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan combined.

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - Soldier Today U.S. Senator Daniel K. Akaka (D-HI), Chairman of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee and a senior member of the Armed Services Committee, and Senator Richard M. Burr (R-NC), Ranking Member of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, called on the Secretaries of Defense and Veterans Affairs, the current acting Co-Chairmen of the DoD/VA Senior Oversight Committee (SOC), to convene a meeting to address the alarming rise in solider suicides.

The Army reported seven confirmed and 17 suspected suicides in January.
