Yamhill County Sheriff`s Office Arrests One Driver For DUII On Super Bowl Sunday

In the United States, the number of drunk driving deaths has been cut in half since 1980.

(MCMINNVILLE, Ore.) - police lights On Super Bowl Sunday, the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office conducted focused patrols to deter and remove intoxicated drivers from the road.

One driver, involved in a motor vehicle crash on Wilsonville Road near Star Mooring Lane in rural Newberg, was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants prior to the beginning of the actual game. The Sheriff's Office responded to three crashes total on Super Bowl Sunday.

Kickoff is set for 5:14 p.m. PT between the University of Oregon Ducks and Oregon State Beavers at Reeser Stadium, with a national telecast on ABC.

(CORVALLIS, Ore.) - UO ducks football Today's Civil War game marks the 118th meeting of the Ducks and Beavers in the Civil War, the longest-running college football rivalry west of the Rocky Mountains.

The Ducks hold a 61-46-10 advantage in the all-time series and have a 29-9-1 (.756) mark vs. The Beavers since 1975, including wins in six straight. UO is 28-18-5 all-time vs. OSU in Corvallis, including three straight wins at Reeser Stadium.

The Ducks (3-0) go on the road to open Pac-12 Conference play on Saturday when they play at Washington State (7:30 p.m., ESPN). The Cougars (1-2) lead the nation with 517 passing yards per game, more than 30 more than second-place Western Kentucky, and are coming off a win over Portland State in which they threw for a Pac-12 record 630 yards.

(BROOKLYN, Mich. ) - Jeff Gordon With a lighting fast new track record at Michigan International Speedway, Jeff Gordon earned his second consecutive NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Coors Light pole of the season Friday afternoon after turning a lap of 34.857 seconds at 206.558 miles per hour, ahead of Sunday's Pure Michigan 400 (1:00 p.m. ET on ESPN).

Gordon crushed fellow Chevrolet driver Kevin Harvick's track record by three tenths of a second at the two-mile oval set just two months ago. Gordon's qualifying lap was the seventh-fastest pole-winning speed in Sprint Cup history.
