McMinnville Infant Death Investigated as Homicide

Officials say the baby sustained abusive head trauma that led to her death.

(McMINNVILLE, Ore.) - homicide investigation McMinnville Fire and Police Departments personnel were dispatched November 21, 2017 to an apartment attached to the residence at 1125 NE Irvine Street on a report of a 7-week old baby girl that wasn't breathing.

3 days later, despite the prompt attention and excellent care from all medical personnel involved, the infant succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Man Charged with Murder for Shooting in Yamhill

It all happened in the small town of Yamhill, Oregon.

(SALEM, Ore.) - RICHARD ROBERT MERSHON The suspect, Richard R Mershon, was reported to have gotten into an argument with a man that led to a physical fight. The physical fight quickly turned into a shooting, by a man that had been drinking.

Male victim number one told Police he had witnessed the suspect push a pregnant female, and she may have fallen down. The woman was apparently an employee of Zippy's Pizza, had been trying to help give the suspect a ride home because he was intoxicated.

Fentanyl Overdose Death Investigation in Wisconsin Leads to Portland Arrest

Selling & buying illegal drugs on the Dark Net is a bad choice.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Joseph R. Caruso In Oregon, 80 people have died in accidental overdoses from synthetic opioids since 2014, and the deaths are increasing according to the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office.

This is the third major case this year that the HIDTA Interdiction Taskforce has worked with ties to the Dark Net, Fentanyl and overdose deaths. Officials want to warn the public that Fentanyl and other opioid analogs are extremely potent and have caused accidental overdose deaths in Portland and around the state.

Polk County Grand Jury Unanimously Finds Officer Involved Shooting Justified

"...use of deadly force was lawful and justified"

(DALLAS, Ore.) - Baltazar Escalona-Baez On Tuesday, a Polk County Grand Jury unanimously found that Polk County Sheriff's Sergeant Kevin Haynes and Polk County Sheriff's Deputy Kelly Lorence were justified in using deadly force when they shot and killed 17-year old Baltazar Escalona-Baez, of Silverton, on the morning of October 28, 2017.

...Escalona-Baez, still within arm's reach of Haynes, turned around and advanced directly towards Haynes, pointing the knife towards him. Haynes then shot Escalona-Baez twice.

Police Arrest Man for Murder of Kenny Kalugin

Oregon State Police SWAT was activated to assist in the arrest.

(SALEM, Ore.) - fatal shooting Shortly after 7:00 am, Friday, Salem Police officers responded to an alley west of the 1800 block of Liberty St NE on a report of an unconscious subject in a vehicle. Officers and medics located an adult male victim in a vehicle and confirmed that he was deceased.

The victim was identified as 37-year old Kenny Kalugin of Gervais. Autopsy results indicated that Kalugin died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.

Officer Involved Shooting Investigation is Ongoing

(POLK COUNTY, Ore.) - Salem-News.com The Oregon State Police (OSP) with assistance from the Polk County Major Crimes Team is investigating an Officer Involved Shooting on Highway 18 near milepost 23 in Grand Ronde.

Preliminary information from investigators indicates deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office were notified of an armed carjacking and robbery that occurred around 4:00 a.m., in the Safeway parking lot at the corner of Silverton Road and Lancaster Drive NE in Salem.

Pitcher is described as a white male, 5'9" tall, 175 pounds, brown hair, and brown eyes. Pitcher should be considered armed and dangerous.
