Oregonian Newspaper Delivery Driver Killed in Weather Accident

An unfortunate accident befell a local Astoria woman.

(ASTORIA, Ore.) - Astoria On arrival it was determined that a delivery driver for the Oregonian newspaper, 50-year old Debra Kay Burnett, of Astoria, had attempted to climb a hilly section of 12th Street near Kensington with her delivery vehicle. She was on her regular route.

Due to the road being covered in snow and ice, the vehicle was not able to make it to the top of the street and began to slide backwards down the hill.

Washington Man Loses Life on 99W near Dundee

The highway had one lane open for all traffic for about six hours.

(DUNDEE, Ore.) - fatal truck crash Wednesday morning, February 7, at approximately 6:40, the Oregon State Police responded to a 2 vehicle crash on Highway 99W near Archery Summit Road, about 1 mile south of Dundee, in Yamhill County.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2014 Freightliner semi-tractor trailer, operated by 46-year old Dwayne Kemp, of Tacoma, WA, was travelling southbound on Highway 99W when he went into cardiac arrest.

Soldier Killed in Accidental Shooting at Camp Rilea

Next of kin have yet to be notified.

(CLATSOP COUNTY, Ore.) - camp rilea Members of a regular US Army unit conducting training at Camp Rilea reported a gunshot discharge in the housing area yesterday at approximately 6:30 pm at Camp Rilea.

A soldier, whose identity is not being released at this time, was declared deceased by doctors at the Emergency Room at Columbia Memorial Hospital, where the soldier had been transported.

Toxicology Results from Walker Drowning

These results rule out alcohol as a contributing factor in Walker's death.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Last summer, at about 5:30 pm on August 2nd, OSP responded to the report of a missing swimmer at Walton Beach.

The missing swimmer was identified as 18-year old Jonathan James Walker from Portland. Upon OSP's arrival at approximately 5:40 p.m., Walker had not been seen for approximately 15 minutes.

Multiple Gunshots Leave Man Dead in Newberg Friday Night

At this time there have not been any arrests in the case.

(NEWBERG, Ore.) - Jack Alan Burnell On Friday, January 12, 2018 at approximately 11:41 p.m., officers from the Newberg-Dundee Police Department responded to a report of gunshots in the area of Main and E Second Street.

When the officers arrived they located a male that was deceased. It appears the male died from multiple gunshot wounds. The next of kin notifications have been made.

Gresham Man Arrested For Manslaughter After Fatal Crash on Hwy 26

The motorcycle rider was killed, and the van driver was charged with Manslaughter II, DUII, and Assault II.

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - fatal motorcycle crash According to the preliminary investigation, police say a white 2003 Chrysler Town and Country van, operated by 54-year old Robert E. Walsh of Gresham, was traveling westbound on US 26.

While negotiating a curve, Walsh crossed over into the eastbound lane of travel and collided with a silver 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

This past week U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch (Utah) announced his retirement from the Senate at 83 years old.

(MYRTLE BEACH, SC) - Senator Hatch Before Mr. Hatch attends his retirement party as Chairman of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee, maybe some vital matters should be addressed.

I am calling for Hatch to be charged with obstruction of justice and named as a defendant in the many lawsuits filed throughout the country against pharmaceutical companies such as Purdue Pharma, maker of OxyContin.

The suspect fled the country in 2007 after being accused of causing two deaths in a head-on car crash.

It was alleged there were up to 100 deaths at Webster's clinic which was raided by the DEA.

Hwy 97 Two-Vehicle Crash Kills Bend Man

Alcohol and speed are being investigated as possible contributing factors.

(DESCHUTES COUNTY, Ore.) - hwy 97 fatal crash Police say that a silver 2006 Nissan Quest, operated by 55-year old Shannon Ray Rogers, of Goldendale, Washington, was traveling northbound when for unknown reasons, struck the rear of a northbound white 1981 Toyota pickup, operated by 56-year old Brian Jay Harris, of Bend, according to the preliminary investigation.

The Toyota veered off the road and impacted into a tree and the Nissan continued northbound and then veered off the road and also impacted into a tree.
