Post Traumatic Stress (PTS): New, Fake Treatments Reported by CBS News

Cannabis best relieves PTS, say most veterans.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Dr. Phil Leveque I was both astonished and bewildered by Scott Kelly's TV program, The War Within: Treating PTS. It appears that Dr. Kevin Reeder, who acts more like a psychologist guarding his turf, somehow got to Kelly to promote a PTS treatment called “Prolonged Exposure Therapy”, which after years of use does not really work. How he got some 16 PTS veterans to participate really baffles me.

For me to intervene in this brouhaha requires my introduction to the subject.

(DENVER) - Medical Marijuana A small store in Central City, Colorado has made history by becoming the first establishment in the US to be granted a license to sell recreational marijuana.

Annie’s Central City Dispensary, located in a city founded during the Pike’s Peak Gold Rush, posted on social media earlier this week that its license application had been approved.

Does US Prosecutor Dave Kowal Get His Jollies from Destroying Good Men?

We live in an age of terrorism and human trafficking and huge insurmountable problems, and all Kowal wants to do is convict Charles Lynch for a few ounces of weed that his security guard sold years ago?

(SACRAMENTO) - Persecution of the little guy Want the real definition of a witch hunt? Charlie Lynch operated a cannabis dispensary in my former adopted hometown, Morro Bay, California. His business was legal under California state law, and even had the blessing of the city mayor.

Lynch was doing everything to comply with the law but it wasn't enough for a twisted sheriff named Pat Hedges who had it in for Lynch.

Marijuana: Excellent, Effective Replacement for Lethal Opiates and Opioids

Narcotics Kill Thousands!

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Cannabis medicine It is daunting to try to write an article like this when the references go back about 5,000 years to 2700 BC, when Cannabis/Marijuana was written up in Chinese medical texts. If I make some errors, please do not be too tough on me.

Cannabis/Marijuana (C/MJ) was introduced into western medicine about 1840 when Dr. William Brooke O'Shaughnessy (1809-1889)  brought it to England from India. Actually, Roman emperor Nero's surgeon Dioscorides in 70 AD praises Cannabis for its medical properties.

Marijuana Mis-Information and Former Congressman Patrick Kennedy

S.A.M.: "Smart Approaches to Marijuana" (what's so smart about it, anyway??)

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - cannabis tea It should be noted that Patrick Kennedy was a self-admitted addict to alcohol, cocaine and Oxycontin.

I routinely cruise the NYTimes for articles on marijuana, pro or con. You cannot imagine my surprise to read a "Letter to the Editor" dated Oct 27 2013, from Mr. Kennedy and his partner in crime, Kevin A. Sabet of S.A.M. (Smart Approaches to Marijuana).

They referred to the legalization of medical marijuana in California in 1996 and revolted in horror that in 2004 California was opening dispensaries where marijuana products could be purchased. Their revulsion was based on the premise that now that marijuana was legalized, that there would be a rise in marijuana use and marketing.

NAACP Supports HR 1523, Respect State Marijuana Laws Act

Marijuana Prohibition Discriminatorily Enforced, Wasteful, Responsible for Overincarceration, Claims Influential Organization

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Salem-News.com Laws prohibiting marijuana have been unjustly enforced and are largely responsible for the current incarceration crisis, says the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, one of the nation’s foremost organizations concerned with ending race-based discrimination.

The group has officially endorsed HR 1523, a bill introduced by California Republican Rep. Dana Rohrabacher calling for the Controlled Substances Act to be amended so as not to apply to those in compliance with state marijuana laws.

NAACP Backs `States` Rights` on Marijuana Laws

NAACP resolution notes that new state laws are moderating the impact of "extreme federal policies."

(WASHINGTON, DC) - NAACP NAACP and other civil rights groups -- for important historical reasons -- have not always been so keen on the idea of states' rights.

Now, however, due in no small part to the racial disparities in enforcement of the failed "war on drugs," the group is endorsing a bipartisan Congressional bill that will let states set their own marijuana policies.

Marijuana: Best Therapy for PTSD

Better than alcohol, and most drugs: It will prevent millions of deaths

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - PTSD When I first started being a marijuana doctor, I had a lot of combat veterans with all kinds of physical wounds. These patients were eligible for medical marijuana permits. Many of them told me that they also had PTSD and they found out for themselves in Viet Nam that marijuana was good for combat terrors related to battle fatigue or shell shock, from WWI and WWII.

PTSD is related to battle fatigue, but it is far more serious and certainly more insidious. These early combat veterans were perplexed that they could not legally or medically obtain marijuana which worked “miraculously” for the extremes of combat stress.

Florida - Veterans - Cannabis

I had a primary role in the establishment of VHA medical marijuana policy but up until today I had never taken the work, that started in my doctors’ office and had reached Washington DC, back to the various facilities to educate staff and connect the final dots.

(ORLANDO) - Marijuana and veterans The morning came quickly on the road. Our gracious host Joe Sisco, Fla-NORML Outreach Chair has opened his winter rental property to our use for the first leg of this amazing journey.

The thick ocean air, here a block or so from the coast, is like a warm hug after experiencing the first days of November’s chill back in Virginia.
