Alcohol-Related Crash Into Molalla River Claims Driver`s Life

Experienced Sport Parachutist Falls to his Death in Molalla

The parachutist who died earlier today has been identified as an extremely competent and expert parachutist from Casa Grande, Arizona.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Death investigation An experienced skydiving instructor fell to his death while performing a high-performance maneuver at the Skydive Oregon parachuting facility in Molalla, Oregon.

The 36-year old skydiving instructor is reported to have been attempting a high-performance parachuting maneuver – utilizing the declared jumping zone for experts – when he fell to his death.

Young Child From Canada Drowns in Molalla River

Officials consider the incident a tragic accident.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Drowning incident The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office had the sad duty of locating a small child Monday at Feyer Park, in Molalla. Sheriff's Office Spokesman, Detective Jim Strovink, says they learned by Monday evening that the child had died.

The child is identified as 5-year old Markian Barsukoff of Alberta, Canada. "Markian was here in Oregon, visiting with his family to attend a wedding and family reunion," Strovink said.

Oregon City Woman Dies in Crash on Highway 211

The near head-on collision happened west of Molalla.

(MOLALLA) - Crash on Oregon Hwy 211 1-13-09 Police say a 75-year old Oregon City woman died and her 8-year old great-grandson received non-life threatening injuries Tuesday afternoon when their car collided with a commercial truck at the intersection of Highway 211 and Canby-Marquam Highway west of Molalla.

Jeanette Lane is the driver who died in the crash. Highway 211 remained closed until approximately 6:00 PM, for vehicle removal and completion of the on-scene crash investigation.

OSP says the preliminary investigation indicates that today around 12:45 PM, a 2003 Buick Park Avenue driven by the victim was southbound on the Canby-Marquam Highway when it failed to come to a complete stop for a stop sign at the Highway 211 intersection.

Molalla Pedestrian Killed By Hit and Run Driver

It happened around 2:00 AM last night on Highway 211 south of Colton. Police say the vehicle should show clear signs of damage from hitting the man while he was walking.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Police have identified 23-year old Justin L. White of Molalla as the victim of an apparent hit & run crash on Highway 211 about south of Colton.

Oregon State Police, working in conjunction with the Clackamas County Medical Examiner's Office and Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, believe the incident occurred during the early morning hours of Friday and the victim's body was found later that afternoon.

Police Pursuit Reaching 100 MPH Ends in Molalla

Additional officers from OSP, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, and Oregon City Police Department assisted in attempts to stop the car as it fled southbound on Highway 213 at speeds reaching over 100 mph.

(MOLALLA, Ore. ) - police chase A Washington County man is in custody today following his attempt to elude city, county and state police officers in an incident that began in Salem and ended in Molalla on Sunday.

At approximately 5:00 PM, Salem Police Department contacted Oregon State Police and informed that they were in pursuit of a stolen grey 1989 Honda Prelude northbound on Interstate 5 in the Salem area. OSP troopers got in position north of Salem and fell in behind the vehicle as it continued northbound at speeds in excess of 100 mph.

Aggressive Behavior at Game Leads to Arrest of Basketball Coach

Clackamas County deputies arrest 6th grade girls basketball coach over disturbance at Saturday game.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - 34-year old Jeffery Scott Larsen, a head coach in Molalla, received two technical fouls and was ejected from the game. A disturbance that erupted on the basketball court at Estacada High School Saturday led to the arrest of a coach for Criminal Trespassing of a Sporting Event over the weekend.

Clackamas County Sheriff's deputies in Estacada were called to the school at noon after a report of a disturbance on the court. Problems apparently stemmed from the calls of a 17-year old referee at the 6th grade girls basketball game between Estacada and Molalla.

Two Rescued and One Arrested From The Middle Of The Molalla River

Both men were in jeopardy, they were retrieved from a "self-imposed precarious position in the middle of the river", a spokesman said.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - 27-year old Vitaly K. Chernov was arrested and cited for Reckless Driving after driving his Jeep into the Molalla River in Oregon, 1-9-08 Two men were rescued from the top of a submerged automobile in the Molalla River today at Wagon Wheel Park, and the driver was arrested at the scene after being rescued and charged with Reckless Driving. The two were reportedly were in good condition after being rescued and did not require medical attention.

Clackams County Sheriff's Office Spokesman Jim Strovink says the driver of the Jeep was arrested for attempting to cross the river. 27-year old Vitaly K. Chernov of Vancouver, Washington was transported to the Clackamas County Jail and lodged for Reckless Driving. He was cited at the facility and released.
