Motorcyclist Dies in Crash South of McMinnville

(McMinnville) - Crash scene on Lafayette Highway : Oregon State Police A Forest Grove man died Tuesday morning after his motorcycle was involved in a traffic crash with a vehicle turning left off of Lafayette Highway south of McMinnville.

Police say that at approximately 6:00 AM, a 1992 Ford van driven by 58-year old Nicholas E. Bartlette of Lebanon, was northbound on LaFayette Highway and began to make a left turn onto SE String Town Road directly in front of a
southbound 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Willamette Meteorite to Return to Oregon as Part of Evergreen Aviation Museum`s Collection

(MCMINNVILLE) - the Willamette Meteorite in 1902 The Evergreen Aviation Museum will soon display a portion of Oregon`s famous Willamette Meteorite.

The meteorite, originally found on a West Linn hillside and sold to a New York City Museum in 1906, will return 100 years later, in part, to its Oregon beginnings.

With recommendation from Oregon Congressman David Wu, Evergreen International Aviation owner and founder Delford M. Smith purchased a piece of the famed meteorite at Bonhams Auction House in New York City on Tuesday and donated the artifact to the Museum on behalf of the Evergreen family of companies.

Driver in Fatal Crash Turns Himself In

Authorities had been searching for Johnathon Bogosian since the crash occurred last week.

(CARLTON) - Johnathon David Bogosian of McMinnville Photo Courtesy: Yamhill County Sheriff The alleged driver in a fatal crash March 17th in Yamhill County turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday.

Yamhill County Sheriff Jack Crabtree said that, 18-year-old Johnathon David Bogosian, of McMinnville surrendered without incident to Yamhill County Sheriff`s Deputies in Carlton after a series of telephone negotiations with Hillsboro Attorney, David M. Audet.

Airplane Museum Enthralls Thousands Saturday

Sean King reports on special activities for families Saturday at the Evergreen Air Museum in McMinnville, home of the world's largest airplane.

(MCMINNVILLE) - Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinnville, Oregon Special activities at Evergreen Aviation Museum celebrate Annual Family Day with a long list of events that took place Saturday, March 18th, and will continue during Spring Break.

Best known as the home of the world`s largest wooden airplane, the Spruce Goose, there are more than 75 historic aircraft and exhibits on display at the Evergreen Aviation Museum, including the SR-71 Blackbird and Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat. The experience of seeing these spectacular pieces of history is a worthy use of time, whether or not one is an aviation buff. It`s something everyone in the family, young and old alike, will appreciate and remember.

Driver in Fatal Crash Sought by Police

(MCMINNVILLE) - Johnathon David Bogosian Photo: Yamhill County Sheriff Yamhill County Sheriff`s deputies are on the lookout for a man suspected of fleeing the scene of a fatal crash that was discovered at 4:00 AM Friday morning.

A search is underway at this time for 18-year old Johnathon David Bogosian of Yamhill. He is alleged the to be the driver of the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Charges Filed in Carlton Animal Abuse Case

(McMinnville) - Animal abuse investigators say they have completed an investigation into the alleged neglect of 12 horses at 11415 NE Hendricks Rd., Carlton, Oregon. Lt. Paul May with the Yamhill County Sheriff`s office says his agency worked cooperatively on the case with the Oregon Humane Society.

May says ten horses were taken into protective custody ranging in age from 2 to 11 years, adding that two horses on the property already died of alleged neglect.

Identity of Deceased Man Found Near Dayton Remain a Mystery

(McMinnville) - The remains of a man found in the Willamette River near Dayton February 18th, remain unidentified after a legal medical examination. A jogger found the remains of the unidentified adult Caucasian male around 3:00 last Saturday, in a log jamb in a portion of the Willamette River known as the Lambert Slough South of Dayton.

Investigators from the Sheriff`s Office responded to the scene and conducted a preliminary investigation at the river site. The body was taken to the State Medical Examiners Office in Portland for further examination.

Shigellosis is caused by a bacteria which is carried only by humans and is spread when people consume contaminated food or water.

Initial results of the investigation show that the majority of people who have become ill ate at Tommy`s Restaurant in McMinnville between January 23rd and 27th.
