Linn County Detectives Arrest Suspect for 1990 Murder of Rachanda Pickle

Rachanda's body has never been located.

(ALBANY, OR) - Rachanda Leah Pickle Linn County detectives arrested a man for murder related to the 1990 disappearance of Rachanda Leah Pickle.

In the early morning hours of July 10, 1990 John and Linda Ackroyd left their residence at the Oregon Department of Transportation shops at the Santiam Junction in east Linn County, Oregon.

Animal Neglect Arrest in Albany

(Albany, Oregon) - Hank 100 lbs underweight On Thursday, at about 11:00 a.m., Albany Police Officers arrested 26-year-old Albany resident Erica Michelle Olsen in connection with an ongoing animal neglect investigation.

Erica Olsen was lodged in the Linn County Jail on a charge of Animal Neglect in the First Degree and an unrelated Linn County warrant charging Fail to Comply.

Linn County Deputy Involved Shooting Update

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Shooting investigation logo Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller is providing updated information to Saturday night's deputy-involved shooting on Gap Road near Brownsville.

At approximately 11 p.m. on Saturday, the Linn County 911 center received a call reporting a prowler at 25288 Gap Road. A deputy responded and learned that someone may have broken into an outbuilding on the property. As the deputy was investigating the scene, a suspect vehicle attempted to run him over.

SELCO Employees Exceed Goal for Fall Food Drive

(EUGENE, Ore.) - SELCO Food Collection SELCO Community Credit Union employees reached out to their communities by donating nearly 6,000 pounds of food to four local food banks. With an initial goal of donating 3,500 pounds of food, SELCO employees exceeded this goal by more than 2,400 pounds.

A list of most-needed foods was published to all SELCO employees, each of whom were given a plastic shopping bag to fill and deposit in barrels placed throughout the branches and offices of SELCO Community Credit Union, its subsidiaries and business units. Food was collected and donated directly to the food bank closest to each branch. These included: NeighborImpact Food Bank (www.neighborimpact.org), Food for Lane County (www.foodforlanecounty.org), Linn Benton Food Share (www.csc.gen.or.us/foodshare.htm), and Marion Polk Food Share (www.marionpolkfoodshare.org).

Erratic Winds Push Flames of Scott Mountain Fire

There are a number of related closures.

(SCOTT MOUNTAIN, Oregon) - Scott Mountain Fire photos from August 25, 2010  As seen from Fritz/Wildcat area. The 950-acre Scott Mountain Fire is burning approximately two miles northeast of Scott Mountain, 15 miles west of Sisters, and 14 miles northeast of McKenzie Bridge in the Mt. Washington Wilderness Area.

The interagency Pacific Northwest Incident Management Team 3 has assumed command of this fire. Smoke from the Scott Mountain Fire has impacted and will continue to impact central Oregon and was being reported yesterday as far away as the lower Santiam Canyon area just east of Salem.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Samilla Stewart of Sweet Home Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller reports that his detectives have recently matched a skull discovered in 1979 with the victim of a car crash that occurred in 1974.
