Body Recovered on Beach Identified as Missing Aloha Boy

Body Found April 8th on Lincoln City Beach Identified as Missing 16-Year Old Aloha Youth

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - Coast Guard rescuer A body that washed up onto a Lincoln City area beach April 8th was positively identified by the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office, with the assistance of the Oregon State Police Forensic Services Division, as a 16-year old Aloha youth missing since March 8th.

Ross Barfuss was unaccounted for after he went into the surf in an attempt to rescue and 11-year old boy at Gleneden Beach on March 8th. The 11-year old boy's body was recovered but Ross Barfuss remained missing since that date.

The call up window for the 2007 Nelscott Reef Tow in Classic in Lincoln City has been extended through March.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - Nelscott Reef Surf Contest 2005 It is hard to predict exactly when 30 foot plus waves will descend on the Oregon coast under ideal conditions each winter, but it does happen, and one Lincoln City who will watch it closely is surf contest promoter John Forse.

Professional surfers the world over are standing by for the announcement that will send them scrambling for Lincoln City on the Oregon coast, and some of the largest and most ferocious waves that exist on the planet.

Newport Man Busted for Meth in Lincoln City

Deputies also found a glass meth pipe that was hidden in the suspect's sock.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore. ) - meth bust Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputies arrested a Newport man after a search of his backpack turned-up Methamphetamine.

Deputies on Thursday contacted 22-year-old Adam Arrambide at the intersection of US Highway 101 and NE Holmes Road in Lincoln City. Deputies located a digital scale and several small plastic baggies used to package Methamphetamine, and two plastic baggies containing Methamphetamine.

Oregon Coast Landmark Dory Cove Re-Opens with New Name

On the evening of November 29th, 2006 a two alarm fire raced through and destroyed the Dory Cove Restaurant.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - dory cove fire The Dory Cove, a famous Oregon coast landmark that was destroyed by a fire last year, is back with a new name and a new location.

The owners say the restaurant's famous food and clam chowder remains unchanged.

The family-owned and operated business was originally located at 5819 Logan Road, had been serving Lincoln City residents and coastal visitors for more than 33 years, creating traditions for thousands of Oregon residents.

Driver Killed During Police Chase North of Lincoln City (UPDATE)

The driver has been identified as 26-year old Michael Aaron Geisler.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - Crash scene Little Nestucca River Rd. Oregon State Police troopers are investigating a single vehicle fatal traffic crash that occurred early Saturday morning while a vehicle was allegedly attempting to elude Lincoln City police and an OSP trooper north from the Lincoln City area.

The fleeing vehicle was found after it crashed into a tree along Little Nestucca River Road in Tillamook County.

Teen Dies in Traffic Crash Northeast of Lincoln City

Jeremy Duane Wescott was a junior at Taft High School in Lincoln City.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - fatal crash investigation Oregon State Police are investigating the death of 16-year old Jeremy Duane Wescott of Otis, who died Tuesday afternoon from fatal injuries in a single vehicle crash on Highway 18 east of Highway 101.

Sadly, this is the second day in a row that a fatal crash happened in the Otis/Rose Lodge area.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - Bonnie King at KBCH Radio, 43007 Salem-News.com's Bonnie King was a featured guest Monday morning on KBCH Radio in Lincoln City. She spent half an hour talking about the difference Salem-News.com is making, even for this coastal city.

And it was a coming home of sorts.

Both Bonnie and Tim King of Salem-News.com began their media careers while living on the central Oregon coast. Specifically, they both worked for KBCH and its then-sister station KCRF in the early 1990's.

Teen Shot at Lincoln City Tanger Outlet Mall

The suspect in the shooting is described as having a dark complexion, possibly Hispanic, 5 feet 6 inches tall and heavy set with brown hair.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - Lincoln City Tanger outlet center Police in Lincoln City are searching for a man accused of shooting a teenage boy at the Tanger outlet mall in Lincoln City.

Police told KPTV that a teenager, later identified as Ty Pederson, was shot during an armed robbery at the Springmaid Wamsutta store inside the Tanger Outlet Mall around 7:00 PM on Saturday.
