Guitar, Banjo & Dobro with Slipshod January 18 at Lincoln City Cultural Center

At the duo’s Jan. 18 debut at the Lincoln City Cultural Center, they’ll be playing classics and favorites, with names like “Black Mountain Rag,” “Did She Mention My Name” and “Fast Train to Georgia.”

(LINCOLN CITY, OR) - Slipshod On Saturday, Jan. 18, the Lincoln City Cultural Center will proudly present an evening of bluegrass, Americana and blues from a dynamic duo called Slipshod. The show will begin at 7 pm at the LCCC, 540 NE Hwy. 101 inside the historic Delake School building.

Slipshod is Matt Snook (dobro and banjo) and Steve Blanchard (guitar and mandolin). They met a number of years ago, as part of the Northwest bluegrass community, and became fast friends – and picking partners.

Pedestrian Killed on Hwy101

There is no marked crosswalk where the victim was crossing the highway.

(YACHATS OR) - Oregon State Police (OSP) is investigating the cause of a pedestrian-involved fatal traffic crash Friday afternoon that occurred along Highway 101 approximately a half mile north of Yachats.

Police say David W. Redetzke, age 75, from Yachats, was walking across Highway 101 from where he resides on the east side to the west side when he was struck in the southbound lane by a 2002 Dodge Neon passenger car.

Vancouver Woman Drowns at Lincoln City

It happened at the popular D River Wayside beach park.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - Beach safety sign A 54-year old woman died Friday morning in a drowning accident off a Lincoln City-area beach state wayside. Oregon State Police (OSP) and Lincoln County Medical Examiner are conducting the death investigation.

With the upcoming hot weather and expected influx of visitors and others recreating at Oregon's beaches, safety information and tips are provided at the end of this release.

Body of Missing Jet Skier Found in Ocean Off Depoe Bay

Coast Guard personnel retrieved the man's body about 7:30 a.m.

(LINCOLN CITY) - Lincoln City Oregon State Police, the State Medical Examiner's Office and Lincoln City Police, are investigating the cause of death of an adult male found early Tuesday morning floating in the ocean off Depoe Bay.

24-year old Daniel Lee Ahlers of Lincoln City was reported missing Monday after he failed to return from jet skiing in the ocean.

Having spent two weeks in Santa Barbara for Christmas without any surf, made it real easy to come back to Oregon for a week of freezing cold conditions with giant clean surf.

Joining myself for the entire week of amazing surf were several locals; It was the biggest paddle session for the local crew by far and they were stoked to be charging it.

Lincoln City Chamber of Commerce to Offer Internet Marketing Classes

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - Lincoln City Chamber of Commerce The Lincoln City Chamber of Commerce, in an effort to continue to support and enhance members businesses, will be offering six (6) free internet marketing classes in 2011. The classes will cover Facebook; Twitter; Two-way communications through social networking; Marketing your business through social networks; and advanced Google tools.

These classes will take place on Wednesdays January 19th, 26th, and February 2nd, 2011 from 5:30pm to 8:50pm in the Community Room at the Oregon Coast Community College located at 3788 SE High School Drive, Lincoln City.
