Lake Oswego Police offer reward for fugitive

(LAKE OSWEGO, Ore.) - Tony Murray Police need public assistance in locating Melvin Anthony (Tony) Murray. Mr. Murray is 5'7" tall, weighs 150 pounds and is a white male with brown hair and brown eyes.

Mr. Murray currently has two outstanding arrest warrants, for theft, and is believed by investigators to be involved in numerous other crimes to include forgeries and burglaries in the Portland Metropolitan area.
Mr. Murray is suspected in passing a forged check for over 4,000 dollars in Lake Oswego and attempted to do the same at a church in Gresham where he was given temporary refuge. These checks were later discovered to have been stolen, altered and cashed prior to the victims being aware of the theft of their checks.

Sgt. Elijah J Rao was killed by an improvised explosive device, or roadside bomb, in Afghanistan.

(HILLSBORO, Ore.) - military funeral A somber and reverent group was on hand for the arrival of a local soldier December 12, 2009, who was killed fighting in Afghanistan. The family of Elijah J Rao says he will be sorely missed.

We first reported on this loss the day after it happened when the family released word of Elijah's death. They said at the time it is the last knock a family ever wants to hear at their door.

(LAKE OSWEGO, Ore.) - Puppy scam "Puppy scams" are affecting those looking to buy a new puppy and breeders wanting to sell their cherished lines.

"These scams prey on emotions," said Robert W.G. Andrew, CEO of Better Business Bureau serving Alaska, Oregon and Western Washington. "They target consumers looking for a pet they can afford or breeders looking for a good home to send their pups."

BBB Says World Link Failed its Students

BBB Alarms Consumers of Serious Complaints Against a Local Language School.

(LAKE OSWEGO, Ore.) - Beijing, China Students paying thousands of dollars for foreign language study courses and study abroad programs say that World Link Education, Inc., or WLE, cashed tuition checks, but discontinued classes without notice.

The Seattle-based language school raised concerns with Better Business Bureau due to reports that it recently ceased operations and failed to provide explanations to its actively enrolled students.

Lake Oswego Man Missing: Police and Family Seek Public Help

Jeff Clausen was last seen driving his white 2003 Chevrolet Suburban. He's known to frequent the Columbia River Gorge and Eastern Oregon in the past.

(LAKE OSWEGO, Ore.) - Jeffrey Bradford Clausen is a 47-year old white male. He is six-feet tall and weighs between 170 and 180 pounds. Lake Oswego Police say Jeffrey Bradford Clausen was last seen 18 days ago on the morning of June 12th 2009 when he left his residence in Lake Oswego.

Mr. Clausen requires certain medications for serious health conditions and it is believed that he does not have these medications with him. This causes great concern as to the current health, and physical condition, of Mr. Clausen who has also been reportedly recently depressed.
