WHO`s Iraq Birth Defect Study Omits Causation

The report will not examine the link between the prevalence of birth defects and use of depleted uranium (DU) munitions used during the war and occupation in Iraq, according to WHO.

(UNITED NATIONS) - Fallujah, Iraq has recorded a staggering increase in birth defects since the US military occupation ended A long-awaited study on congenital birth defects by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health (MOH) in Iraq is expected to be very extensive in nature.

According to WHO, 10,800 households were selected as a sample size for the study, which was scheduled to be released early this year but has not yet been made public.

A 2012 World Health Organization study on congenital birth defects in Iraq has still not been released to the public.

(DETROIT) - Sterility, repeated miscarriages, stillbirths and severe birth defects have increased in parts of Iraq [EPA] Iraq is poisoned. Thirty-five million Iraqis wake up every morning to a living nightmare of childhood cancers, adult cancers and birth defects. Familial cancers, cluster cancers and multiple cancers in the same individual have become frequent in Iraq.

Sterility, repeated miscarriages, stillbirths and severe birth defects - some never described in any medical books - are all around, in increasing numbers. Trapped in this hellish nightmare, millions of Iraqis struggle to survive, and they call for help.

The Bradley Manning Matter

It is important to note that Manning testified that "most of the cables were unclassified” indicating that possibly some were not.

(SAN FRANCISCO) - Bradley Manning Bradley Manning, a U.S. Army soldier, admitted sending 700,000 government documents to Wikileaks in 2010. It was the biggest leak of classified information in U.S. history.

Manning is now charged under Articles 92 and 134 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) , which incorporates parts of the Espionage Act in Article 106a of the UCMJ. The Manning case is ongoing at Fort Meade, Maryland.
