Gas Prices Steady in Time for Thanksgiving

The price of gas appears to be leveling off this week, just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.

(SALEM, Ore.) - filling up gas tank "Gas prices appear to be leveling out as we approach Thanksgiving, after a 28-cent surge in the past eight weeks."

AAA Oregon Public Affairs Director Marie Dodds says, "The national average is down one-and-1/2-cents in the past week to $3.09 per gallon for regular unleaded, and Oregon's statewide average drops 1/2 cent to $3.155 this week.

Holiday Travel Troubles Across Much of the U.S.

Rain is in the forecast for cities like Detroit, Chicago, and St. Louis, while cities farther south like Louisville, Memphis, and Houston will have the risk for thunderstorms.

(STATE COLLEGE, Pa.) - National weather map Forecasters say a high located in Atlantic Canada will keep the interior Northeast chilly on Monday. By Tuesday, milder air will make its way into the region.

A storm will brew in the Mississippi Valley by Wednesday, and it will bring messy weather to the East on the busiest travel day of the year. Drivers should use caution on the roadways.

Salem Police Will Begin Their Annual Holiday Toy Drive

The Toy Drive began in December '86 when an officer responded to the scene of a suicide.
