Tuesday on Capitol Hill: The People`s Budget

72 years after the nation was propelled into World War II by the attack on Pearl Harbor, the groups say it is time for the country to end its obsolete wartime budget - as it had done after every prior major conflict.

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Peace, anti-hunger, anti-poverty, environmental and community groups will gather in the nation's Capitol on Tuesday December 10 to observe International Human Rights Day by calling upon Congress to slash runaway, dangerous military spending and meet critical domestic needs instead.

The groups will hold a news conference and media availability at 10:00 a.m.

Distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that it was shocking to learn a country like Sweden; said to be one of the world’s most highly developed post-industrial nations; displaying such prejudice, racism and discrimination.

(GRANDE RONDE, OR) - The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde is conducting an enrollment audit. The audit fulfills one of the tasks assigned in the Tribal Strategic Plan for 2010, which was adopted in August of 2009. That plan was formulated after nearly two years of development that began with a Strategic Futures conference in 2007 involving Tribal leaders and members.

The plan directed Enrollment to audit all enrollment files and applications, track reasons for denials, and audit blood quantum records with the goal of strengthening the Grand Ronde Family Tree.

With 22 PTSD Veterans killing themselves every day and thousands homeless or hermits, something must be said about this absolute betrayal of our combat Veterans. Our society owes them the return of their souls and minds.

It is not necessary for me to recite the causes and effects of PTSD. They are well known and a cancer on our society. Almost from the first, they were regarded as a lack of moral fiber and/or a sign of whimpiness. Not so. The best combat soldier is frequently the worst victim if he is still alive. His brain has been undone.

Mass Disenrollment Hits the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde

(GRANDE RONDE, OR) - Up to 1,000 members (nearly 20% of the membership) of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon will be receiving letters of potential disenrollment, resulting in what could be the largest termination of American Indian citizenship in United States history.

15 members of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde have already been disenrolled, and 79 cases are pending the outcome of hearings scheduled for December.
