Schneiders Fate in the Hands of the Jury

The verdict could come down very soon.

(WICHITA, Kansas) - After 8 weeks of emotional testimony, the pill mill trial of former doctor Stephen Schneider and his nurse wife, Linda Schneider has been handed over to the jury for deliberation beginning Wednesday morning.

Schneider has been referred to as the "Candy Man" and his former clinic as the "Burger King for pain pill addicts" with reports of overdosing and deaths of patients.

(WICHITA, Kansas) - U.S. District Judge Monti Belot expects to send the Schneider case to the jury next Tuesday.

The jury is down to 11 people after another juror was discharged this week. Both the prosecution and defense have agreed that 11 jurors can decide the fate of the Schneiders.

(WICHITA, Kansas) - The trial of Stephen Schneider, former doctor, whose pain clinic has been linked to 68 deaths and who was known in the medical community as the "candy man" for his prescribing habits had some dramatic moments in the courtroom this past week.

The jury heard Brent Rody, MD and former chief medical officer for Via Christi Hospital in Wichita, testify at the trial of Schneider and his wife, Linda, a nurse at the clinic.

(WICHITA, Kansas) - In Week 3 of the Stephen and Linda Schneider trial in Wichita, Kansas, the jury heard Ted Parran, a physician from Cleveland, Ohio refer to the Schneider Medical Clinic as a "pill mill."
