Stayton Woman Drowns in North Santiam River

Two companions with the victim were not injured.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Drowning investigation A Stayton woman drowned today in the North Santiam River approximately five miles West of Lyons. Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller says dispatchers received the report at 2:26 PM that 27-year old Jessica Lynn Liddell, and two companions were floating on rubber inner tubes down the North Santiam River.

"They came to a bend in the river and through a set of rapids. The water forced the three towards shore where Jessica became caught in logs and debris."

Name Released in Investigation of Man Who Shot Himself During Traffic Stop

Police say the man was driving with a suspended license, had no outstanding warrants for his arrest.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Shooting investigation Police have identified the man who shot himself early Saturday evening shortly after being stopped by an Oregon State Police Sergeant on Highway 22 west of Highway 99W. 30-year old Derrick Girard Guajardo of Woodburn died Sunday morning at Salem Hospital.

Saturday at approximately 6:57 PM, OSP Sergeant David Peterson stopped a 1995 Honda Civic four-door displaying Washington license plates on Highway 22 near milepost 18 for a speed-related violation.

Marion County Sheriff`s Deputy, Teen, Killed in Head on Crash

Deputy Kelly James Fredinburg joined the Marion County Sheriff's Office in August 2006.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - marion county crash The investigation into the fatal head-on traffic crash involving a Marion County Deputy Sheriff Saturday night on Highway 99E north of Gervais is continuing.

Deputy Kelly James Fredinburg, age 33, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Driver Killed During Police Chase North of Lincoln City (UPDATE)

The driver has been identified as 26-year old Michael Aaron Geisler.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - Crash scene Little Nestucca River Rd. Oregon State Police troopers are investigating a single vehicle fatal traffic crash that occurred early Saturday morning while a vehicle was allegedly attempting to elude Lincoln City police and an OSP trooper north from the Lincoln City area.

The fleeing vehicle was found after it crashed into a tree along Little Nestucca River Road in Tillamook County.

Driver and Passenger of Car Identified in Fatal School Bus Crash

The driver is identified as 25-year old Justin J. Gandy of Lyons. Police say his driving privileges were suspended at the time of the crash.

(LYONS) - image of vehicle involved in crash Police investigators say two men died Thursday morning after losing control of their car and crashing into a school bus on Highway 226 south of Lyons. The bus driver and two small children were not injured.

Around 11:30 AM Thursday, a northbound 1989 Nissan Sentra four-door lost control while negotiating a shaded, icy curve.

Fatal Crash Closes Highway 18 Near Valley Junction

State Police and local emergency responders are on the scene.

(SALEM) - fatal crash investigation Police and fire crews are on the scene of a fatal traffic crash on Highway 18 just east of Valley Junction. The incident was reported just after 11:00 AM.

According to Oregon State Police, initial reports indicate three vehicles are involved in the crash, one of which caught fire.
