(SALEM, Ore.) - George Atiyeh George has been missing since the Sept. 8th Wildfire that roared down Opal Creek, burning down the Opal Creek Ancient Forest Education Center at Jawbone Flats, the old mining camp that he and pals restored starting the 1970s.

As I write this no contact has been made since that fateful day.

Charges Filed After Molotov Cocktails Thrown at Portland Police

Portland police arrested 13 people at the Sept 23 protest.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Portland protests During the night of September 23rd, the 118th day of protests in Portland, Oregon, multiple Molotov cocktails were thrown at police in downtown. One exploded near the intersection of SW 2nd Avenue and SW Main Street.

The resulting explosion caused a Portland Police officer’s boot to catch fire.

Salem Teen Killed and One Injured in Shooting Tuesday Night

Anyone with information related to the shooting are asked to call the Salem Police TIPS line at 503-588-8477.

(SALEM, Ore.) - shooting investigation Salem Police Department is investigating a shooting which occurred at approximately 10:45 p.m., Sept 22, at the Hoover School Park, located in the 1200 block of Savage Rd NE.

Two victims, a male and female, were struck by the gunfire. Both victims were transported by medics to Salem Hospital, where one victim later died of their injuries.

About 1 million acres have burned in Oregon since the start of this year.

Limited Area in South Salem: BOIL WATER NOTICE

This notice applies to a limited portion of South Salem only. Not all City of Salem water customers need to boil water.

(SALEM, Ore.) - boil water At approximately 4:30 p.m., September 23, 2020, a 12-inch cast iron main ruptured causing water pressure to be interrupted to approximately 1,000 homes in the South Salem area in the City of Salem (see affected area in map below).

No other areas of the water system were affected by the pressure interruption.

3 More Oregonians Succumb to COVID-19

Today, OHA reported 328 new confirmed and presumptive COVID-19 cases, and 3 deaths

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - COVID-19 COVID-19 has claimed three more lives in Oregon, raising the state’s death toll to 532, as well as 328 new confirmed and presumptive cases as of 12:01 a.m. today bringing the state total to 31,313.

Oregon’s 532nd COVID-19 death is a 64-year-old woman in Malheur County who tested positive on Sept. 1 and died on Sept. 20, at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. She did not have underlying conditions.
