Lunar Eclipse Creates Stunning Blood Moon for Sky Gazers

Millions of people around the world were watching the sky late last night, hoping to catch a glimpse of the "blood moon"

(SALEM) - blood moon The "Blood moon" is a sight only witnessed during a total lunar eclipse, when the Earth spins between the sun and the moon.
The shadow of the Earth catches the refracted light from the sun, and the moon has a reddish, almost copper-color sheen cast upon it.

Though the blood moon was to be most prominent in North and South America, most of the United States was cloud-covered and the spectacle was hidden from view.

Open Letter to Noam Chomsky

Professor Chomsky, as a teacher of US foreign policy and expert in political theories behind statecraft, you cannot be unaware that echoing of the core lies of the state while critiquing its effects, is explained by political science most perceptively.

(LOS ANGELES) - Noam Chomsky, a professor of linguistics at MIT Hello. I am writing this open letter to you both as your former student at MIT who got at least some of his inspiration to stand up to the narratives of power from your considerable teachings, and on account of your being a public intellectual influencing public opinion worldwide and therefore also accountable to the public for your opinions.

I have made the following unpleasant observations in my article and which I continue in this letter. I would like to ask for your response.

Gettysburg College visiting Professor Leads Dog Barking Research

For the study, Gettysburgians first recorded barks from small, medium, and large dogs. The collected barks will now be played back to local dogs participating in the research to see how the pooches react to the barks.

(GETTYSBURG, Pa.) - Gettysburg College Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology Kathryn Lord Dogs--they're loyal, loving, and always there to lend an ear when you need it most. But when it comes to understanding their vocalizations--let's just say it can get lost in translation.

Fire in the Sky

The scientists are still obsessed with gravity and heat generated by gravitational flexing.

(SAN DIEGO) - Fire in the Sky The obstinate rejection of my electromagnetic concept is apparently over but the continued stubborn adherence to old beliefs is hindering the explanation of many remaining mysteries.

For instance, in the Jan. 5, 2014 program “Fire in the Sky”, the narrator said: “Magnetism is nature’s most mysterious force. Only now are we beginning to understand how it shapes the cosmos. Mega-flares make magnetism visible. It shines a light on the incredible power of magnetic fields; fields that play a fundamental role in the universe...”

The Newest Depth of Depravity

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. - Margaret Mead

(OLDENBURG, Germany) - Comma There it goes, disappearing into extinction, that fine old mark of punctuation, the comma of direct address. Every time I read an email that starts "Hi William," I wince.

Deep within me lurks a reactionary grammarian who insists on a comma separating the name of the person from what is being said to them. At first I tried to convince myself that in the salutation of an email the missing comma isn't important. After all, the meaning is clear.

Why is New York`s Mayor - A Self-Proclaimed ``Progressive`` - Challenging School Choice for Minorities and the Poor?

Giving poor and minority students a choice of where to go to school----a choice which more affluent students already have---should be a natural cause for a "progressive" like Bill de Blasio to embrace.

(WASHINGTON DC) - Bill de Blasio New York City's mayor, William De Blasio, repeatedly tells us that he is a "progressive," committed to making life better for minorities and the poor.

Slow Writers

I never saw a city boy yet who was worth a damn. - Ernest Hemingway

(DAYTONA BEACH) - old typewriter William Styron was a great novelist and there he has the advantage over me. But he wrote only four books, and there I have the advantage over him.

In a touch less than fourscore years and ten, I've written a guidebook to Inuit cuisine, a puff piece on Alaska seiners' purloining of the Prince Rupert salmon fishery, an apologia for the Gulf oil spill, two anthologies of G.I. pornography and a novel banned both in Boston and the Campfire Girls' reading list.
