South Salem High School Science Teacher Arrested for Classroom Experiment

The arrest was as much a shock to students as to the teacher.

(SALEM, Ore.) - South Salem High School A teacher from South Salem High School was arrested at the school Tuesday afternoon.

Sam Dufner is a science teacher, he was arrested on two counts of first degree criminal mistreatment involving students, according to Lt. Steve Birr of Salem Police.

ODFW Hosts Family Fishing Event March 28 at Devil`s Lake

Families get to learn how to fish together!

(NEWPORT, Ore.) - The Regatta Park Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is hosting a Family Fishing Event Saturday, March 28 at Devils Lake in Lincoln City.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Regatta Park. ODFW will stock the lake with 6,500 rainbow trout, including 2,000 fish that will be released in a large net pen reserved for youths.

(SALEM, Ore.) - baby chicks Spring is the season when people purchase "baby chicks" for their backyard poultry flocks or to give as Easter gifts, but one public health expert advises caution around these cute, fuzzy birds.

Since 2010, nine outbreaks of illnesses caused by salmonella bacteria from chicks have occurred, affecting at least 37 confirmed salmonellosis cases and many more suspected cases.
