(SALEM, Ore.) - The 2015 Oregon Ag Fest is this weekend in Salem. The 28th Annual agricultural adventure runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 25 – 26, at the Oregon State Fair Grounds, 2330 17th St NE, Salem.

Last year over 17,000 people attended Ag Fest. Many were given their first introduction to what agriculture means, and how it is important to each and every one of us.

The two-day event is aimed to help families better understand where their food, fiber and flora come from, is a unique learning experience, where hands-on exhibits make learning about Oregon’s vast agricultural industry educational and entertaining.

Marion SWCD will have a Nintendo Wii and Calvin Tucker’s Farm Animal Racing game available for kids and teens to take turns playing on. High scores will be recorded and shared on Facebook.

Drawings will be held twice a day to win copies of the all-ages game. Winners need not be present and can pick up the game at the district office’s the week following the festival.

While children have fun playing their parents will have the opportunity to view the district’s educational material, which will focus on pollinators, native plants and water conservation, and ask conservation experts questions.

Kids can race virtual tractors, get a tote bag or birdfeeder and learn a bit about water conservation.

Tickets are $9. Kids 12 and under get in free. Parking is free, and virtually all activities at the event are free of charge. Thanks to sponsors, kids can ride ponies, plant seedlings, watch sheep get sheared, pet farm animals and much, much more!

Come check it out for yourself: the last weekend in April for the 28th annual Oregon Ag Fest.
