Grand Jury Rules Use of Force on April 30 was Justified in Marion County

Domestic violence continues to be a raging problem in our communities.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Crestview apts Today a Marion County Grand Jury unanimously found that Salem Police Department Officer David Baker was justified in his use of deadly physical force against 46-year old Michael Conley, on April 30, 2014.

A total of nine witnesses testified before the Grand Jury, including Heidi Conley, Michael Conley’s wife. The witnesses consisted of four civilians and five police officers from different agencies.

Suspect Arrested In Stolen Honda From Dealership

In the past two weeks, Luna has burglarized a total of four car dealerships and stolen vehicles from three of them.

(SALEM OR) - Gonzalo Luna-Hernandez Salem police tell us that Detective Cole Hughes, with assistance from Keizer Police, arrested 37 year old Gonzalo Luna-Hernandez for the burglary and theft of a customer's new Honda from Honda of Salem.

The arrest culminated from a traffic stop at about 3:00 PM in Keizer. The stolen Honda has been recovered. In the past two weeks, Luna has burglarized a total of four car dealerships and stolen vehicles from three of them. Other victims have been Skyline Ford, BMW of Salem, and Withnell Dodge.

Car Prowlers Steal Veteran`s Bronze Star and Other Awards

It would be greatly appreciated if the items were returned to the local Veteran that earned them.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - ACU Backpack Sometime during the night between Wednesday and Thursday, car prowlers struck near Tanner Creek Park in West Linn. The thieves made off with a backpack that was in the trunk of a car. The pack is an Army Combat Uniform (ACU)pattern. For those who don't know what that is, it is the camouflage of the United States Army. It had a patch on it that read "229 Training Brigade".

Inside this pack was a binder that contained photos, official documents, service awards, a letter from the President and a BRONZE STAR that was awarded to our victim on his last combat tour in Afghanistan.

Linn Detectives Make Arrest in Murder

Detectives believe Matzke acted alone and there were no witnesses to the murder. The robbery charge stems from Matzke stealing money from Miller after his death.

(ALBANY, Or.) - Hands cuffed Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley reports his detectives have made an arrest for the murder of Tim Miller.

On May 9, 2014, Detectives received a full confession from Donald Arthur Matzke, 43 years old of Sweet Home. Matzke has been arrested and lodged in the Linn County Jail for Murder and Robbery I.

Murderer Josh Cavett has his Day in Court

Whether it be a plea for 25 years or "True Life", Cavett is going up the river.

(PORTLAND, OR) - Josh Cavett in custody Almost exactly 6 months after he committed murder, Josh Cavett went before Multnomah County Judge LaBarre and the District Attorney today to formally present his prospective plea deal.

On October 12th, 2013, Josh Cavett shot his 27-year old wife at point blank in front of her two little girls, leaving the 5-year old to call for help. He snatched their 2-year old from the scene and put her at extreme risk, setting off an Amber Alert, until he was arrested.

Tragically, Jessie Cavett died a few hours later. The man she was divorcing, and had gotten a Restraining Order against to protect her and the children, has been in custody since late that same October night.

OSP Criminal Investigations Division Sex Abuse Investigation Leads to Arrest of Fort Klamath Man

The investigation centered on alleged criminal conduct toward a known female victim when she was less than 12 years of age.

(KLAMATH FALLS) - 58-year old Efren M. Valencia Oregon State Police (OSP) arrested a 58-year old Fort Klamath man Tuesday evening after a warrant was issued for his arrest for Sex Abuse in the First Degree.

On April 1, 2014 at approximately 8:20 p.m., OSP troopers contacted 58-year old Efren M. Valencia at his residence in the 52000 block of Highway 62 and took him into custody.

BREAKING NEWS: Robbery at old Roth`s Supermarket in Keizer

The abandoned store has an active ATM in a small room on the front of the building.

(SALEM) - police line Keizer Police are on the scene of a reported robbery at the empty building that was Roth's Supermarket on the corner of River Road and Chemawa.

One of the two Brink's security team allegedly called police from the truck, and said the other partner was inside the "ATM room" with a person wearing a black mask. He was apparently encountered by the masked man and then entered the ATM room, where he or they remain at this time. There have been reports of a gun being involved, that has not been confirmed.

Flasher Runs From Woman with Tazer, Jumps Fence (VIDEO)

Salem police are looking for a man who "flashed" a woman on/near High Street. She flashed her Tazer and he ran.

(SALEM) - flasher in Salem, Oregon A woman in downtown Salem was getting into her car at the mall when a man pressed his naked genitals up against her window, according to reports.

She apparently responded by grabbing a Tazer and chasing after the flasher; she may even have tazed him, which is not yet confirmed. The nearly naked man allegedly ran from the infuriated woman and escaped her wrath by jumping over a fence near Willow and High Streets in NE Salem.

Mother of Physical Abuse Victim Arrested

Brandy's boyfriend, Michael Shane Abo, was arrested on January 4th, 2014, after investigators concluded he had caused injuries to the boy.

(MCMINNVILLE) - Brandy Lynn Robertson McMinnville Police Department detectives have arrested Brandy Lynn Robertson on charges of Criminal Mistreatment and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.

The case involves her four year old son who was transported to Oregon Health Science University on New Year's Eve after suffering a traumatic brain injury, as well as other traumatic injuries to his body.

Phone Stolen from Child of Murder Victim on Christmas Night

It is hard to be one step ahead when you don’t think like a thief.

(SALEM) - Jessie Doyle Cavett Last night, the Grinch showed up in Redmond, Oregon. On Christmas night, a precious little girl who recently lost her mother had her phone, gifts and personal belongings stolen from the family’s vehicle.

27-year old Jessie Doyle Cavett was murdered by her estranged husband on October 12, 2013. Her two children were at the scene, and daughter Peyton was able to call for help. That is an amazing feat in itself, rising above the trauma and finding the rational thought to immediately use the phone. It was especially mature for someone her age. Peyton is five.
