Oregon State Posts 19 Social Security Numbers Online

A public service allows those who suspect a breach of their personal information to determine if are at increased risk of identity theft.

(CORVALLIS, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Last month, the Liberty Coalition discovered sensitive personal information of 33 students and faculty on a University of Oregon Web server, including 19 social security numbers.

Multiple Burglaries Lead to Arrest of Sex Offender

Several items of clothing and other personal property were stolen during in the burglaries and later recovered inside Sitton's home.

(CORVALLIS, Ore.) - Bruce A. Sitton Police in Corvallis say that between August 25th, 2007 and October 23rd, 2007, seven local residents were victims of residential burglary. In each burglary, the victims were home during the commission of the crime and each time the suspect entered through unlocked doors and windows.

Members of the Corvallis Police Department, Benton County Sheriff's Office Street Crimes Unit, investigated the crimes and linked them all to one man, Bruce A. Sitton, who is a registered sex-offender.

OSU Wins Oregon`s Civil War Game

This year's Civil War was a memorable event and had all of the usual rivalry.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - After an initial surge, Oregon State seemed to slip in the first half of the Civil War game today, but showed their fans that the second half would be different. The first half of the Civil War was memorable and had many great plays.

The Beavers looked like it was going to be their game at first as they brought the score to 21-7 in the second quarter. But as the game neared halftime, Oregon scored two touchdowns to bring the 21-7 score to 21-21.

Corvallis Woman Dies From Injuries Suffered in Crash

The victim who died, 55-year old Cheryl Jean Johnson of Corvallis, suffered critical injuries and was initially transported to Good Samaritan Hospital.

(CORVALLIS, Ore.) - Photo of Acura involved in fatal crash 11-26-07 near Corvallis, Oregon A Corvallis-area woman died early this morning from injuries she sustained in a Tuesday night two-vehicle crash on Highway 99W north of Corvallis.

Oregon State Police Spokesman Greg Hastings says that around 5:45 PM Monday, a 2005 Chevrolet Trail Blazer was towing an empty 12-foot flatbed trailer southbound on Highway 99W near milepost 80. "The trailer became detached from the vehicle, crossed the centerline and struck a northbound 2003 Acura RSX," Hastings said.

Police Say Argument Became Violent Domestic Abuse

Police say both were injured when a pair of scissors was picked up.

(CORVALLIS, Ore.) - 19-year old Cody Knight Corvallis Police Officers responded to the 1800 block of NW Grant Circle Monday afternoon, after neighbors reported hearing a fight between a man and a woman in an adjacent duplex.

Lieutenant Dave Henslee with Corvallis Police says that upon arrival, officers say they located and detained 19-year old Cody Knight who had been involved in an altercation with the victim, who is also his girlfriend.

Oregon Woman Arrested for Theft and Mistreatment at Care Home

The total value of items stolen is approximately $25,000.

(CORVALLIS, Ore.) - 20-year old Kristy J. Belcher was arrested and charged with Aggravated Theft I, Theft I, and Criminal Mistreatment Corvallis Police made an arrest in a case involving Aggravated Theft and Criminal Mistreatment of residents in a local assisted living facility.

Sergeant Joel Goodwin with Corvallis Police, says the department began an investigation into a report of theft of money and several pieces of jewelry from a resident of Stoneybrook Assisted Living in Corvallis on October 17th.

Oregon State to Open Childcare Center for Student Parents

An open house and grand opening for Our Little Village-Library will be from noon to 2:30 PM on Tuesday, Nov. 6th.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - oregon state university In order to help Oregon State University student parents in need of care for their children, the Associated Students of OSU and the Valley Library have teamed up to create Our Little Village-Library.

Any currently enrolled student can drop off their children ages six months to 10 years old on a first-come, first-served basis for a maximum of two to three hours.

Elderly Corvallis Man Dies in Crash

The elderly man lost control and slid sideways into the southbound lanes were his car was struck in the passenger side by a southbound 2007 Toyota Camry.

Second Bat Tests Positive for Rabies in Benton County

This year in Oregon nine bats have tested positive for rabies including two bats in Benton County.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - bat flying Officials from the Benton County Health Department have confirmed a bat has tested positive for rabies.

On Sunday, September 16th, residents near Finley Wildlife Refuge discovered their dog had a live bat in its mouth. When the dog released the bat, the owners killed the bat and notified the Benton County Health Department.
